I've stayed at CBR once and I'm staying there again in Sept. I love the Caribbean look, so it's a great resort for me. I think it's a good "grown ups" resort b/c its a little quieter.
I like the villages away from Old Port Royale - like Jamaica, but if you don't like to walk, try to get a room closer to Old Port Royale.

We will be there tomorrow! It will be our third stay there. Love the new pool!
We requested a room in Martinque to be closer to the main pool and food court. Also a first floor room since there are no elevators. I'm going with my mom and son so I get to handle all the luggage...plus my mom has difficulty walking since she had knee replacement surgery.

I have stayed at the Caribbean Beach during my 2002 trip and I absolutely loved it. We stayed in Aruba and saw the illuminations fireworks every night from our room. A perk of Aruba (at least when we stayed there) was it was the 1st or 2nd stop on the route to pick up and drop off passengers, so we always found seats on buses to the parks. the island in the lake was also nice and was the fastest way to go to Old Port Royale from there, but word of warning, birds like to hang out on that island, so watch your head and feet, my family had a nickname for the island but I don't now if i am allowed to say it, lol

Beautiful resort! I bet you will love it. Been a long while since I stayed there, 1996
All the advice about location is so important. We asked for Jamaica because it was recommended for it's short walk over the bridge to Parrot Cay, then on to the main pool and Olde Port Royale where there is a great food court. We ended up in Aruba which seemed to be even closer I think. It is a huge, spread out resort. I hope they still have the cherry-head conures and other parrots on the island. It was really fun to stop by to say hi to them in the am when they were real talkative and exited to see people. So sweet. Enjoy

We just did a quick trip at CBR in Feb. It was wonderful. We stayed at a brand new pirate room (we were the first to stay in it after it's refurb). I love, love, love this resort. The quiet pools are very nice and the large pool with the castle theming is great fun. The pool bar ROCKS! I will say that I didn't care for the food court. I don't like the individual areas with separate lines, but I'm not really a food court fan so it could just be me. Over I give this resort a big thumbs up, very fun, with great theming!

Has anyone experienced this resort in the middle to end of July? We will be going there for our honeymoon in July 2010 and we were wondering if there would be a bunch of kids running around. Also, after reading these posts, looks as if Aruba is the best section to see Illuminations from the resort? I'm sure we will be at the parks every night, but just in case, I would like to be able to see the fireworks if possible. Any suggestions on what to request (area)? We don't care much about the food court...we would like the quietest section possible with a decent pool area, and perhaps a beach area (if there is one)? We have never stayeed onsite before, so we are newbies to staying osite, but I am obsessed with WDW, so I am knowledgable about most things WDW. Any suggestions/ tips are appreciated! We will be driving a rental car, so bus stops are not an issue for us!

We had a great time at CBR. It was a lot of fun and the main pool is 24 hours, great if you have teenagers. The food court was very good and pretty reasonable for WDW. I myself enjoyed the pool bar immensely.
