Do you really think you could get all the best, most noticeable, ones in one show that is 5 minutes at the most? If you had 5 shows you can get a ton more in the show. Have the same ending....you sort of have to, with the obligatory flight over the parks, but have different locations each time.

Or maybe have 4 shows for 4 seasons. You can do fly overs during the changing of the leaves in New England, Spring in the National Parks like Yellowstone, Summer at beaches in California, South Carolina, etc. And Winter in Salt Lake City and Colorado.
I like these ideas very much. Although I don't think it would be so difficult to have just one film. After all, they manage one film each for all of Canada, China and France. You can cover a lot of territory in 5-6 min.

Soarin' over the World might be a bit tougher, though. How do you choose?

I like both the Soarin' over America and the Soarin' over the Countries of World Showcase. As for the music, which I think is some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard, was scored by Jerry Goldsmith, who passed away back in 2004. I would like to see a new video someday, but I would love to have WDW keep the same music in the ride. Soarin' has become one of my favorite rides at WDW. I actually got a park hopper for my first trip to Disneyland ONLY to go over to California Adventure and ride Soarin'.

Of all the things I don't like about the new stuff at EPCOT, I think Soarin' is an amazing ride.

That would be very cool!

All great ideas!

Like the worldshow case idea and I like the soarin over America.
South America would also be nice! Why not make soarin something the audience can choose much like horizons used to be with the selectors. Have the audience choose before you take off! Or even have the audience select while waiting to board! That would be awesome! :donald:

It doesn't fit in the Land, but maybe in an effort to get Future World back thinking about the future, how about Soarin' Into Tomorrow? Maybe an updated look at the Horizons family or something, or even converting that into some kind of onscreen journey. Have the Imagineers get back to being visionary, instead of reactionary.

I do agree what a great idea!! Soarin into the future is a great thought. Revisiting the horizons family again that would be awesome:)
Great idea ! never even thought of that one! :donald:

That is the best idea yet! We could probably get some original Horizons stuff back in the mix too! Who do we call? Let's get it going! Imagine, Future World as it is really suppose to be. Wouldn't it just be the best?

I honestly don't mind the current ride film, I just wish there was a smoother transition between scenes instead of all those hard cuts.

If you think about it, California already has most of the different types of landscapes that are present in North America, and most of them are in Soarin (I think). There's beaches, forests, orange groves, mountains, and deserts. The only thing a Soarin' over America film could add might be the flat nothingness of the Midwest and maybe the New York cityscape. Of course, for the New York sequence they'd have to pipe in the scent of smog with just a touch of urine, for authenticity's sake ;). Oh, and I suppose they could do a flyover of a Florida swamp, but that'd smell worse than NYC. It would be cool to have a flyover of WDW instead of Disneyland, I suppose, but that's about it.

The Soarin' into the Future idea is interesting, but the only practical way to do it would be as a CGI animated film, which really flies in the face of what The Land is supposed to be about. It would be as out-of-place as the computer-animated fish in The Living Seas. (Or a GM sponsored pavilion about the future of transportation :D)

Soarin over America would be my preference as well. If I had to narrow it down, Soarin' over New York would really be cool (but I am not partial).

From your lips (er... keyboard) to WDI's mouse ears. If they wanted to actually tie it to the future and the land (scandal!), they could incorporate some of the future 'agricultural engineer' stuff from Horizons. They'd still be able to use the citrus smell and everything.

They could really tie the park together and fly through some active wind farms, over glinting solar panels, and maybe mention that trees are carbon-sucking fiends (they get pretty close to saying something like this in the rain forest section of the boat ride, but don't follow through). There are a number of angles they could play to make the ride actually relevant.

Efficiency preserves ecosystems which increases the availability of fresh water. Global warming affects crop yields and all that.

Plenty of possibilities, all better than "Oh, look, the Golden Gate Bridge! Look kids, Big Ben!".

We could have Soarin over New Jersey. They could include the smell near the Goethals Bridge.

Yeah, except more people would lose their lunch walking off of that ride than the original Mission Space. :lol

It would be cool if they had two versions of Soarin' (like Mission Space) and you could chose which one to go on. Keep the California movie and add another one.
