At -14 (-38 with the wind chill) today in my part of the world, I'd ride Splash in a speedo if I could be at WDW. Although I think I'd be asked to leave the park - permanently.
We generally travel to WDW this time of year (for reason stated above). Most years Splash is closed for refurb while we are there. It looks like Disney is slowing down a bit on refurbs this winter - perhaps a sign of the economy?

I wouldn't go that far. It's supposedly going to hit around 32 tonight in WDW. Still really warm when compared, but you might want to go with the swimming trunks!

That is a good link... Aw, a shame. Ellen's Energy Adventure and the Hall of Presidents will be closed when I am there. Oh well.

I heard it was 40 degrees in Orlando today, speaking of a bad time to be on Splash Mountain. Can anyone back that up?

according to
http://www.weather.com/weather/local/32 ... ox_localwx
it is 53 right now, so I am sure it was not that cold earlier.
looks like it will get down to 39 tonight then back up to 66 tomorrow.. That is pretty normal this time of year.

I just got back from WDW and Splash Mtn was indeed down...just like it was last year when I was there for the marathon weekend. EEA was down as well which made me a little sad because I love that ride, but it did free up an hour during the day to do other things. HoP had the mesh screens up around it and the Fountain of Nations had been boarded up sometime Monday (1/12) or Tuesday (1/13) for maintenance I guess. I'm glad I got to see Philharmagic before that refurb. It is hands down the best 3D movie Disney has put out.

I actually got to see Splash Mtn. when they had drained it- it was so strange to see the huge flume just a big dry dropoff- it actually makes it look a whole heck of a lot more scary!!!!
