It had top-flight production values, if I recall. Wasn't Spielberg involved somehow?

No, it was Lucas. He helped make it. I was there for opening weekend. I remember my father helped with the sound system for the announcements and stuff. That's when he took me into Star Tours before it was complete. :) I'll never forget that!

Ah, Lucas. That explains the "Hooter" character.

He took you into Star Tours? The Flanneled One Himself? Wow, that's awesome! You realize, of course, that SuperShadow would kill to be you.

Casrin, that's a really funny post. I agree with the Hooter-Haters though. He nearly ruined everything!

Captain Eo rocked! It was in Disneyland before EPCOT. I also went opening weekend. They had the park open overnight and you could stay the whole weekend on one entry. I remember seeing people sleeping on benches. Everyone got the rainbow shirt that Captain Eo wore too. I remember my mom waiting in line for Eo for 6 hours and we hopped in right at the end.

I think the same guy that directed MJ's Thriller video directed Eo. John Hughes or something.

sub didn't meet lucas. it was Sub's dad that took Sub backstage.

Funny to see the confusion though.

I understood! I thought it was cool that he got to see Star Tours before it was complete and just wondered what he remembered?! That's all. :)

^ He was talking to me. I didn't read subsonic's post carefully enough and mistakenly thought it was GL who took him backstage :)

Believe us, if Sub met Lucas, we'd be hounding him about it nonstop.

My FATHER (not Lucas) took me into Tours in the exit area. It was the cabin bays. The rooms were all black and the hydraulic actuators were in place but the cabins weren't in yet. It was pretty cool to see. What's even better is that it was the first attraction I was trained on and was able to see the completed product many years later. :)

I wish I would have gotten to ride Star Tours as a kid.

I had thought Captain EO was great also, yodiwan1! That's why I request the soundtrack a lot on here; I'd never thought I'd hear it all again, and I hadn't, until I found this site. :)

It just struck me hilarious the other night, listening to them hassle Hooter, so I had to post this.

But man oh man, as a kid? The evil witch queen scared the pants off of me with this talons when she'd move them and - thanks to 3D - it was like they were going to scratch your face off.

I felt the same way!! But at the same time when she changed into a hot chick thats when I realized that anything can beautiful inside!
