Oh yes, we saw a big gator hanging right under the walkway near Country Bears!

Last trip we took the walk from MGM to the Boardwalk area. It took us about 15 minutes. You pretty much just follow the water way, as soon as you exit the park. Stay to your left and follow the path. It's a nice walk!

My family and I stayed at the latest resort, the Saratoga Springs resort and there's a path that goes directly to Downtown Disney. It's really quite something, being that close to DTD. I got some really great photos!

Head on over to my art page to see a few of em!

I believe the disney pics are on the 2nd page of my gallery.

just a reminder that this isn't the place for info on the new movie. there is an open thread about the movie in the "Off Topic" forum.

That is scary, makes you wonder about falling into the Rivers of America. If they are that close they could be in there too. Granted this has probably been going on for years and years but you'd think they would be able to do something about it.

If you go backstage on the WDW tour, you can see the vast, swirling hat containment unit behind Splash Mountain. I'm surprised the gator wasn't wearing the visor of his choice.

what?!? so the L&F people lied to me several times saying things like "Hat's that get lost on Splash Mountain are destoryed by the time they come out the other side"? I have some of the CMs ON the ride that say all the hats are sent to the L&F the next day. and now come to find that there's a big, swirling hat containment area?!? ok, I need a trip down there NOW to see if I can find my hat...

There's a big tank which is part of the circulation system, and if you look down into it, you can usually see a bunch of hats swirling around in there. The "containment unit" description was a joke.

Ok - you are really scaring me now! Last May when we were staying at POR we were walking very late one night back to the room in the AB section. We were going over one of those little bridges and we had been hearing the "Bullfrog" sounds all week and yes, we thought they were bullfrogs" all week too. Just as we were on the bridge we heard a very loud movement in the grass and reeds and we knew something was moving but had no idea what. I never ran so fast in my life! I have never seen a gator in my life and really don't wish too! :mickey3:

I've heard those sounds, too, and assumed they were bullfrogs. We took the walk from Ft. Wilderness to the Wilderness Lodge last time, and I got a little freaked out by some of the noises. We were the only ones on the path-about half way between the resorts, and I suddenly got scared. It's really woodsy back there. I'm sure there are gators! I picked up the pace and got back to WLV quick! I've also seen armadillos roaming near the lodge. That was pretty cool.

That would almost impossible to do. Getting rid of the Gators would cause trouble with other wild life and there are A LOT of Gators. I've never have heard of anybody being attacked by a Gator at WDW. Has anybody out there heard of any problems with them?

i know this isnt a walking path, but when you drive onto property, especially at night you can sometimes find deer and wild turkey along the side of the road. I know iw as once staying at the treehouses at fort wilderness and we had deer outside every night.

Mickster68 - You are not the only one who was freaked out. Now that I know they are not bullfrogs, I will be even more freaked out on my next trip!
