That's a good point about the oven. It's the one thing in the final scene that hasn't come and gone. Well, I suppose most people don't have virtual reality headsets in their home, but Disney Quest (where they have a lot of VR) has really gone out of style.

I just love it when Trish says, "Oh grandpa, don't tell me about the days when you didn't even have a car phone!" Most kids today would say, car phone? What's that?!

I do think it would be fun to have an update with the family, though that gap between the first three scenes and the last one keeps getting farther and farther. Maybe we could see them every 30 years starting in the 1900s?
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

I have some friends that have voice activated everything throughout their house. They could talk to the oven if they wanted to. Not to mention they have stuff that is sensitive to body motion. So if you leave 1 room for another, it turns off lights, and turns on others at the same level of brightness, turns off televisions and turns on others at the same channel/place in a movie. It's pretty amazing.

Bill Gates has paint that can change colors on his walls using nanobots. Some of the stuff from the final scene exists, its just not affordable/practical yet. Some stuff could really use an update...."car phone" to "cell phone" It would be fun to see them playing the video game system with smaller VR goggles and a Nintendo Wii type remote. I really think that's the future of gaming

I think it has been open since Alien Encounter closed down, to help ease Tomorrowland. It has been open daily since that.

Also, I know there was some work done with the carpets, seats, etc in some of the theaters, but not all of them I believe.

And "Now is the Time" is part of the attractions' past. It's good to hear the original song, "There's a Great Big beautiful tomorrow", playing in the theater.

I love COP. Mostly for the nostalgia. I think rdecon said it best about being a link to Walt himself.

The problem is there just are not enough "rooms" to showcase the changing technology. Anyone know what the time is between each showcase?

I also think they need to go all out on the last scene. They should have it all futuristic. And the window in the back should be outerspace where you can see Planet Earth. OR maybe underwater and you can see fish go by. Or in the desert and you can see the desert sun through the window. Geez... why does all that sound familure? Heh...

I want to say that it's between 20 - 50 years between scenes, give or take a few years. I could be wrong, but it seems like they go from around the turn of the century, to about 1930, then about 1950, then the 1980s which also seem to put you "in the future.

I'm trying to remember our trip this past December, but we only saw this once and it was in the middle of the trip...

Just to be pedantic...

The scenes are:

1900s/turn of the century - Spring time/Valentine's day
1920s - Summer time/4th July
1940s - Autumn/Halloween
2000s/future - Winter/Christmas

Yeah even the seasons change. My younger cousin who went on the ride for the first time, really enjoyed it which I was shocked and she even noticed the season change. And yet she laughed at me because I knew all the lyrics to the song. I told her that they arent that hard but she still thought I was insane.

Ok she might have thought I was insane because I was repeating the lines from TTA as well

How old is your cousin? I'm curious in our fast paced, video game, lives of today if children have any interest in animatronics of COP style?

She's 12 so she isn't that young but I still found it cute that she really enjoyed the ride.

And she liked Spaceship Earth too so I think she is following in my footsteps.

It's good to see people at that age appreciate and enjoy the novelty of attractions like that.

December 06 I went down with my niece and nephew (8 & 4) and surprisingly they loved CoP and wanted to see it again.

Aaaah! It is a beautiful thing when Disney attractions of the past still touch the younger generation. I think that says a lot about COP! :D
