And then maybe you can shed light on the "WDW is the worst job in the world don't ever consider it" I hear from many former CMs

I've never heard that before. In fact, I have family that works there and they love it. and we have many former CMs here who all seem to have loved working there (thogh it seems like they hated certain aspects)...

No job is perfect. But it's something to work there for a few months than working there permanently. A few of my friends are still working there as CPs(they extended) and I'm a bit jealous.

I think there are certain aspects of ANY job that we all hate..

I think it would be fun to work there one day a week or something. The pay is so horrible, that I just don't see how you could do it full time and still pay your bills.

And for today's update...

I recieved a few bits this morning.. the form that I sign and fax to WDW to officially accept my place (woot!, it's official now!), and some info about applying for the visa (addresses for the WDW contacts, where I'll be staying (The Commons), etc. Also in there was a criminal record check form, which I need to send back to them soon and a list of documents I need to take over to WDW with me when I go.

Getting there now!

Andy.

I'm not going to be there till Dec 1st! I'm gonna miss you! Any chance you can extend your stay? Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to try! ;)

Foldmama: Cool, I'll try and post here what I'm upto, so if you happen to be around where I am (wherever I may be!), do come over and say "hi!"

knedeau: Heh, as far as I know, you can't extend your stay as a CM, although you do get a certain amount of time before you *have* to leave the US (I'll have to check this, but I do remember 90 days being mentioned to me somewhere once..). However, I'm not sure I'll be staying past the end of the 2 months..

Andy:

Yes, that would be fun. My nephew will think I'm really cool if I say hello to a CM. Actually in his words it would be "Sweet". In a 10 year olds mind being a CM is pure magic!

Andy congrats! I think it would be fun to work as a CM, I love the stories that the x-CMs post on here. As with any job there will be pluses and minuses, so enjoy and revel in the pluses! I hope it turns out to be a great and positive experience for you. I want to be the DL greeter (like they have at Wal-Mart) ha ha ha, now all I have to do is have Disney create that job for me  "Hi and Welcome to the Happiest Place on Earth, have a zipidee do dah time!!"

Today's task was trying to sort out travel over to Orlando. I have a sort of plan now that I intend to run by Disney to check it's OK with them, then I can go ahead and book the stuff :) Getting closer now! Just one month to go!

foldmama: Heh. Kids are always fun :)

bostoncg: Hehe, The two roles available on the 2 month program that I'm on are Attractions/Operations and Quick Service Food and Beverage. If they'd put me in Attractions/Operations, I could have been doing just that!

bostoncg: Hehe. They did ask which I'd prefer, but I said I didn't really mind.

I intend to take photos whilst I'm there, and will try and keep my website updated (I've now moved the test page to http://www.andrewpoole.org.uk/disney/ since it's getting closer to the day I go!), and will also try and keep you updated here when I get some time to do so. Might take a few days after getting there to do so, but I will certainly try to put updates up for you all :)

Andy. One month left!

Thought for today: This time in four weeks time, I'll be in Orlando (I'm flying out there on the 9th and staying a night in a hotel near the airport before meeting Disney on the 10th). Scary thought, but exciting nonetheless!
