Its to expensive.. There was an idea to make a monorail to the airport too.. but at multiple millions of dollar a mile they just can't justify any expansion of the rail.

Powerball? Don't you know that lotteries are just a tax on people who can't do math?

We covered the monorail expansion issue in this post

I love taking the monorail and I take it as much as I can.

Neat site, all the trasportation in one place. They covered the buses but only the old RTS ones and the newest Gilligs, not the futuristic Novas they got btwn then with the groovy curved windshield, etc. Interesting interior views too, only rode the bus once or twice, the latest was when the monorail was down. The old RTS ones have no padded seats, looks like they opted for that on the new ones too.

On the water launches [cool little things, like the jungle cruise without the jokes] - do they really run all the routes the site lists? I've only ridden the route to MK-GF-Polynesan and that was the only one offered by those boats when I'm there. I do seem to recall them running a shuttle with those from Contemporary to Fort Wilderness/Wilderness Lodge but I didn't think that made it all the way to the MK...

And how many of you have seen a tram outside a parking lot? I remember seeing one once on one of the main roads pulling a string of empty cars - just tooling down the right lane. No idea if it was moving cars to a maintenance base or what but neat to see it outside of the usual setting.

Yes they do. I have riden them all. The one for Ft. wilderness by itself, and the MGM - EPCOT route, etc. I wish they had better padding on them too, because the boat rumbles something fierce.

I've always wanted to take a boat from EPCOT to MGM just to do it, but my family thinks it would just be a wste of time :(

The boat from EPCOT to MGM is pretty neat. I think i took it from the Boardwalk however after eating at the ESPN club. It's defnitely not a waste of time.

My favorite boat ride was from Dixie....er Port Orleans, to DTD. When I went on it, it was just my parents and I, it was a small boat traveling down the river that connects to DTD. I would defnitely recommand it to anyone staying at Port Orleans.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

I stay at the Boardwalk quite a bit.. The problem with the boats that go between MGM, Epcot, Boardwalk, Beach and Yacht, and the Swan and Dolphin is this: From any of those locations you can walk to any of the other locations much quicker then a boat.

From the boardwalk epcot is 8 minutes (timed normal walking pace for a 6 foot 3 man). and 15 minutes to MGM.

Now, if you catch it at the right time and the boat is right at your dock then sometimes it's quicker depending on how many stops it has to make between you and your destination.

This is my only complaint about staying in the Epcot Resort Area. We actually stay there becuase its walking distance to our two favorite parks. They need 1 or 2 more boats in the rotation.

WDW has very nice bus drivers. On one trip I was staying at an All-Stars resort and wanted to have breakfast at Boma in the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Well as I was getting off the bus at the AK I asked the driver if he knows what bay I would pick up the bus to AKL, well he smiles tells me to have a seat and he would take me right there . :D now that's great service...it was like the first bus of the day so I gues he wasn't too busy. :mickey:

The magical express bus drivers are very nice as well. last december when I was there he kept singing most of the ride and had everyone singing with him.
