This list is actually really helpful for me as well. My family is going to WDW for the first time in early Jan., and I wasn't sure which attractions and things we could not miss. I want my family to really experience as much as they can while they're there, well 4 days worth anyways.

Thanks all! :D

Thank you all for the great suggestions! I am going to have to pull up the old MSXL sometime soon and put everything into an easy to read spreadsheet for the trip.

I keep hearing the "Carousel of Progress." What is it and is it worth seeing?

Beaker,

The Carousel of Progress was designed by Walt Disney to showcase the progress we've had in the US throughout the past century. it's quirky and adorable, and used to be at the World's Fair. It's a narration done by a gentleman at his house, with cameos of family members doing odd jobs or getting ready for different events. Each 'room' that the audience spins to (you're seated in a rotating theatre) has a different holiday. It's cute.

I heartily recommend going once, just so that when the suits decide it's time to rehab it to make money, you can say youv'e seen a part of history.

You should at least see the Carousel of Progress once.
My family thinks it's kind of boring, but I appreciate it beacuse I love Disney. It's actually pretty cool if you think about it, there's not too many revolving theaters in the world.

I really recommend doing things most people don't. There are several WDW cruises available (I don't mean DCL). The Wishes & Illuminations fireworks cruises are great, and the romantic cruise is nice.

Also Bass fishing on Bay Lake is a ton of fun.

I say do any ride that is outdoors at night. Things like HM, POTC, Tiki Room, etc won;t work as those are all indoors, with specific lighting/themes/etc. I mean like the TTA, Big Thunder, Dumbo, Jungle Cruise, etc. The experience can be so much more different at night, it's almost like you're riding a different ride.

I think I'll try Carousel of Progress, just to get over my dread of that theme song...maybe.

vfxpro- the cruises sound very nice, I'll keep those in mind.
