I remember reading an interview where some "Disney official" said they would never add an Indy Adventure anywhere in WDW. They said that it uses the same ride system and track layout as Dinosaur (CtE  ) and that people would begin to notice the similarities if they built it in FL.

What I don't understand is why they would use the same track layout... They don't realize that Disneylanders also visit WDW?? and vice versa. It's a lame excuse. Anway, that style ride is one of my favorites, I wouldn't mind having two of them.

That seems like a silly reason to me (not that I doubt they'd give a silly reason). I notice 'similarities' between the Buzz Lightyear track and the old Dreamflight track, and Pooh and Toad but it doesn't detract from the new ride. It's the theming around it that's what people are looking at, not 'Hey we turned left here in CtE too! It must be the same track! Anarchy!'. I don't know how many people would ride both and notice right off that they were similar in that respect, even if they were at the same park.

Whether or not they'd knock off the ride completely and make it identical to the one at DL is less of an issue to me. I don't necessarily think every ride has to be unique at every park, though given my druthers, I'd like to see them use the latest tech and learn from things they wish they could have put in the DL ride, etc etc.

I wonder if the reason for not putting one at WDW is really more they don't want or can't have 2 Indy things in Florida and are attached to the stunt show? That seems more plausible to me than 'we can't - it's too similar to CtE'.

And makes me like the stunt show even less.

they won't do another ride system in WDW like Dinosaur or Indy, yet how many incarnations of Dumbo are there?

I've read that the movie is nowhere near based off anything from the Tokyo DisneySea ride whatsoever

I work in aircraft design. My co-workers and I are all old aircraft enthusiasts and don't recognise it as a production aircraft.
We don't think it’s a direct copy of anything. It looks like a collection of bits from the JU 88, JU 288(prototype), FW 189 and the AR E340 sprinkled with a dose of Disney Imagineering. :?

The wing/tail dimensions, layout and design looks a bit unstable to us. This would be very hard work for the pilot and he (she) would get tired very quick if they could control it at all!
The engines look a bit to small for 1940s piston engines that would generate enough power for take off.

Those sneaky Nazis might have had solution though

All that said. If you can dream it you can do it.

We might be able to get it airborne with some modern jet props and a flight autostabaliser system to handle the flight controls. :D

You have no idea how much productive work time was lost discussing this question

I found the article, which was on Jim Hill:
First things first: You can pretty much forget about Disneyland's "Indiana Jones Adventure" ever being built at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Why For? Well, for starters, "Dinosaur" makes use of the very same enhanced-motion-vehicle system that you'll find rolling through both the Anaheim & Tokyo DisneySea versions of this "Indiana Jones" -based thrill ride (And according to what several Imagineers have told me, this Animal Kingdom attraction has the exact same track layout as Disneyland's version of "Indy." So if WDI were to ever replicate Anaheim's Temple of the Forbidden Eye in Central Florida ... Well, the similarities between these two attractions would become pretty obvious fairly quickly).

(However, during my search for the atricle, I also found one from 2005 where JH reports that Disney would have an Indy Adventure in MGM "as early as 2006". )

Jim Hill got in a lot of trouble a few years ago with Disney for his point of view. It's was the fact he sided with Roy Disney and not Eisner, Since then he became a Disney public relations outlet. I don't think he's had an opinion of his own in a long time.
It's to bad, he used to have some really good insight on what was happening at corporate. I used to get his updates and have his website as a favorite. I haven't looked at it in years.

Wait a minute. Something just occurred to me!!

In the original film The Raiders of the Lost Ark the plane that is circling around while Indy fights the big German is the same (at least kind) of plane at the Stunt Show. That's not a real surprise for some of you I know.

But thing is, they were going to transport the Ark on this plane. Where the heck were they gonna put it? That crate they put the Ark in was pretty darn big.

Indy at the Studios

Post by castmember04 » Nov Sat 17, 2007 10:35 am

Just a quick note here, it isn't a real plane but a scaled down replica. I use to work at Area 5 in the Studios, which included Indiana Jones and Star Tours.

That's not the same plane from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Remember the scene where Indy fights the big Nazi? He tells Mariam before the fight when they load the Ark on the plane we're already going to be on it. Then they sneak to the plane. Different plane and a lot smaller.

The 4th film is taking place in China.

This is the info i have.

Shia LeBouf is to star in the movie (probably as Indy's son) as well as Caryn Allan and Marian from Raiders.
