There is a new rumor about this Star Wars themed area for DHS. Supposedly there are talks in the works for some kind of Yoda 3d movie. I wouldn't think that they would do this because Disney pretty much already has their Star Wars 3d experience with Star Tours.

Great idea, especially cause they already have the cartoon version of him from Clone Wars! I can see it now, "Lessons in the Force with Yoda"...your welcome Disney, I'll take my check now.

Mr. Iger in a recent interview stated, '"We’ve got some pretty exciting things that we’ll be announcing over the next couple of months." Possibly between 5-8 weeks. This is news is most likely about the Star Wars project. There have been plans to Star Wars attractions for both DL and WDW since Disney acquired Lucasfilm.

Unless they are going to demolish/redo the whole area it probably won't. The standard for Disney, as with most companies, is to leave everything in place (even if abandoned), until something new is ready to be placed.

this could be part of a refurb of that central hub area...to give the park some kind of identity for the future

I mean...isn't that hat just a rain shelter for pin trading purchases right now? That's one expensive awning if you ask me.

they could just be switching the main Icon back to the Earful Tower. They never demolished that when it changed, so I doubt they are getting rid of the hat.

When the hat was placed, Disney did say that it was going to be a one year deal. Unfortunately Disney kept the hat for longer than that. For the 25th anniversary of DHS coming up, Disney could make the hat pink

I still doubt it would be going anywhere short of them doing major changes to the area, but it is odd they wanted it for the icon for the park during the "Four Parks One World" campaign since it became a redundant feature on the artwork since it has mickey wearing the hat, and the hat right next to him.

I'm going to remain positive and hope they remove the darn hat! Didn't the wand stay longer than intended on the SSE?
