I am pretty excited about this and there has been a need for change for awhile. We spend alot of time at Downtown Disney.

Update: Depending on what page you are on, the official AMC theaters website is using the new Downtown Disney name. It is listed as Downtown Disney on the theater times but when looking for a theater in Florida or the Orlando/Daytona "market" they still list it as Pleasure Island.

Another Update: Dine-In theaters are set to open May 16th. Doing some research at AMC's website, under the age of 18 will have to be accompanied by an adult. Interesting to note is that there are two options in other AMC theaters that are 21 and up only. I would love to see it come to AMC Downtown Disney but I doubt it'll happen.

Do those theaters serve alcohol? Or only R rated films?

Pretty sure it's for alcohol. Could be for both, though. The menu has alcoholic beverages for both types of theaters, though. Alas we won't know unless AMC Downtown Disney gets that. There are six theaters with the dining option so in the future they could possibly make two or three of them 21 and over.

They wish. AMC will be carding regardless of age or how old you look.

If the theater is 21 or older and children can't get in at all (even with an adult) then I wonder if those specific theaters/showings will show films targeted at younger audiences?

Dallas, Kansas City and two theaters in New Jersey are the only theaters that have the 21+ theaters so unless someone here has been to any of them (5 total) we won't find out for a while.

Anyway, looking at the Kansas City setup it appears they only show PG-13 or higher movies and it doesn't look like they show anything that would be even a borderline family movie, date films and bro films.

Update: So the Dine-In theaters will be having previews (no pun intended,) for CMs and their guests (free movie and appetizer with an entree). I don't know if it's Resort wide or limited because she got an e-mail from an internal system at WDW (she is a trainer at Test Track and Spaceship Earth so that is how she got the E-Mail address for those wondering). I don't know if they will update the options as there were only six older movies to choose from for the preview week: Karate Kid (Jackie Chan version), The Social Network, Tangled, Tron Legacy, Inception and The Hangover. We decided on Inception as it is a very long movie and gives a lot of time to test the system. So this Thursday, expect a report.

Doubt it as there is construction going on at PI/HW (whatever you want to call it at this point) where Motions and Rock N Roll Beach Club used to be.
