Space Mountain has been soft-reopen for 15 minutes now... from the report I've read, the queue music is the same!!!!
We are all a little weird
And life's a little weird,
And when we find someone whose
Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”
― Dr. Seuss

I don't hate the spiel for the new TTA, but it sure is a wasted opportunity. All that spare time could be used to talk about all sorts of interesting things, but given the current state of Tomorrowland, maybe the less said the better.
The voice sucks, though. As someone else in this thread mentioned, it sounds like the attractions channel in the Disney hotels, which is kind of like nails on a chalkboard for me. The old Jack Wagner spiels managed to be friendly without getting in your face about it.
I liked the matter-of-fact female voice during the "pardon our dust" part. That sounds more like what you'd hear on a mass transportation system. If you had to listen to that chipper guy every day on the way to work, you'd start smashing in the heads of your fellow commuters.
It looks like Space Mountain is moving away from kitschy space wackiness, which would certainly be improvement. I don't like my attractions to mock themselves. Post-post-post-modern irony is not welcome in Disney, as far as I'm concerned.
Interested to see what they did to the actual ride. As much leg-breaking fun as the Cyclone at Coney Island is, there's something to be said for a nice smooth coaster.

Also I suppose I'm glad the robopalms survived. I was never a fan of the bastardization of Tomorrowland's theme and purpose, but those trees were pretty cool.
Stupid attractions notwithstanding, all that fake rock leaves them in a reasonable place to redesign the land into an architectural style Horizons was hinting at, where there is an acknowledgment that nature still exists, and future tech is integrated into it, as opposed to the cold glass and steel present in a lot of futuristic depictions.
I think the original Future World made a decent attempt at melding the two, with all the waterways and gardens.
Still, though. Collapsible robopalms are cool.

Not sure about you, but I don't go to WDW to recreate my commute to work. I go to get away. I don't want to hear a voice that reminds me of the guy who tells me I'm at Downtown Crossing.I liked the matter-of-fact female voice during the "pardon our dust" part. That said, I liked the previous spiel. It was more like you were touring a community than just a land in Disney World.
Nothing yet as Space Mountain is not "officially" open yet. At this point, like the new TTA spiel after its reopening has shown us, anything can happen.MW1218 wrote:i meant the music when you go through SM on the TTA

Please tell me the queue audio is still the same...Star Tunnel and the opening when you first walk in.
I saw some of the new pictures, it looks pretty good
