Just when I start pouting about some change occurring at one of the parks or a favorite attraction being closed, I see something like this and

that there are Imagineers who acknowledge the rich history of Disney theme parks. This little nod at WDW is a great example:

I have to admit, I am not a huge Fantasyland person (sorry!), but I am getting pretty excited about our trip in January to see how things have changed. Getting a look at some of the pictures that are out there now, things are looking great!

We are all a little weird
And life's a little weird,
And when we find someone whose
Weirdness is compatible with ours,
We join up with them and fall in
Mutual weirdness and call it Love.”

Interesting that they changed what he was carrying from a gun to a casket, one would guess of beer.. so Disney wants us to think that drinking is better than shooting? HAHAH

You mean a cask (casket is a box)
Hmmm... interesting change though. I wonder if it was a "we don't want to see new characters holding guns" or if it was one where it was either something that wouldn't cast right or be prone to damage?

With recent shootings in the news, I'm sure Disney did not want to be open to any extra critisism. They took the "lesser of two evils" I guess.

I'm going to say that probably had little impact since it takes a good deal of time to cast a statue in bronze (make the statue in clay, allow to cure, make the negative, the frame, cast it, repairs, clean up, etc.

They tried to include the gun but they got stopped by Disney security at the bag inspection...
Hoping to go back to the Magic soon.

Yup, I'm going with a much earlier decision to add the second barrel, possibly as an easier to maintain water feature for the fountain. I think if Disney were to respond to all the random violence in the news, the Pirates would all be carrying teddy bears and flowers to take over a town

Plus, we wouldn't still be seeing little Pirate or Star Tour weapons for sale.

In the disney franchise world, no villians have ever died as they all make appearances in various franchises.

That Gaston statue is scary to me but then again so was Gaston himself. But it looks good!

They should put a Madam Mim statue in there somewhere, like as a secret/easter egg or something.
(Madam Mim's that crazy purple haired woman from The Sword In The Stone)
