Looks like it's going to be amazing!! Can't wait to take a look on Sunday and see what I can see. The exterior, if it is like that, will be spectacular!

Update: Doesn't seem to be part of the expansion but the carousel (or Prince Charming's Regal Carousel for those that want to call it that) is closed until an unspecified time.

Was it scheduled for refurb?

Well, there's not been any accidents reported in connection with it, so I'm assuming it's probably an unexpected operational problem with the carousel...

No refurb scheduled. And mindflipper is correct. They have no clue as to what is wrong so they closed it and are removing all the horses (or so I've heard) to find the problem.

I am sad to hear this & hope it reopens soon! We always seem to ride it in Magic Kingdom - its one of the few fantasyland rides that rarely has a line, plus I like the view of Fantasyland from that ride.

As far as the carousel goes it could be an operational issue (part broke) or just a refurb. Carousel is popular, so I don't imagine they'll keep it down too long...

I was just there last weekend. It was closed on Saturday, but had re-opened on Tuesday. My DD was very excited since she didn't get to ride it on Sat.

Glad to hear it was such a short time. Definitely sounds like a minor repair issue.

The expansion is expected to be finished Spring 2012 (just in time for the summer for the crowds) if you go by their previous estimated completion date; but as the expansion got twisted around as they were breaking ground, the last minute changes (such as the 7 Dwarves Mine Car Coaster) will be opening later. Of course, we're talking about a construction project, which can be greatly unpredictable, so at this time no date is truely firm.

Really missing WDW :( . Oct 2004 was my last visit. Since then I have lost my sister who was my traveling companion. WDW was our escape every couple of years. Now I'm just lost without her and don't know when I'll get back, but I have to break this slump and get back to our favorite place. I'm thinking the fall of 2013 after the big FL expansion would be a great time ( I say that now! Hope I don't loose my nerve). I'm sure it's gonna be amazing :hatter_bounce: .

Sorry about your sister :( But I agree, a return trip after the new Fantasyland is up and running would be a great way to honor her memory :D
