What kind of time are you expecting for your 5K distance?

Well, after his recent bumps and bruises, I think he wants to complete a 5K run regardless of the time first. After that, then he can work on the time...

Honestly, I don't know what a "good" time should be for a man my age with my lifestyle and physical condition, so I'm just shooting for the best I can get by January. I'm guessing that for me, anything around 30 minutes will be just great.

In addition to the medals for the races in January, there will be vinylmation available as well:



The Mickey and Donald are 3" and have a place on the back where you can write your name on it. I'm sure these would be about $12.95.
The Goofy is a 9" and also has a place on the back for your name. This is probably around $34.95 or $39.95.

Will this be the first VM for some of you?? What do you think of it???

It doesn't seem to have any distance distinction on the VM, other than the Mickey and Donald, so you could simply get your favorite

Unfortunately, the character itself dictates the distance. So anyone who knows would be aware of it, and I couldn't display one from a run I didn't do....

There's hope for you and your medal yet M-dude. I was just reading the Disney Food Blog and there was a very nice review of the Disneyland 5K with lots of backstage photos. Plus, they got some bling!! (The photos have a copyright mark on them so I can't repost them for you ~ sorry...)

Thanks for the link! Although it's not a guarantee that we'll get any decent bling at our event, you are right that it offers some hope. Hate to be negative, though, but it looks like the "bling" really isn't much.... nothing more than a plastic doohickey on a lanyard... something you could get for a dollar at a gift shop... For what we're paying to enter this run, I sure hope our bling (if any) is more impressive.

I guess I thought that was a metal medal. But looking back at it you might be correct, it might be plastic...guess you won't know more until January.
