I think you're strolling too far into the Brit voices that cost too much $$$ to do the narration for just $.

This is a great comment alone. It all depends on which country your from. There are lots of foreign families that enjoy US parks.

I think Sean Connery would be an excellent SSE narrator.

Is he even around anymore? He retired some time ago, even bypassing a cameo in the last Indiana Jones film.northernmousefan2007 wrote:I think Sean Connery would be an excellent SSE narrator.

ROME....I REPEAT A ROME DID NOT INVENT THE INFORMATION SUPER HIGHWAY!! Rome invented PAVED ROADS. It bothers me every time I hear the new SSE. It's been so dumbed down I can't stand some of it.

How about the Islamic and Jewish Scholars of the Dark Ages being the "first back-up system" of information after the fall of Rome?!?Jacca5660 wrote:ROME....I REPEAT A ROME DID NOT INVENT THE INFORMATION SUPER HIGHWAY!! Wasn't it the Greeks that invented color TV?mindflipper wrote:How about the Islamic and Jewish Scholars of the Dark Ages being the "first back-up system" of information after the fall of Rome?!?Jacca5660 wrote:ROME....I REPEAT A ROME DID NOT INVENT THE INFORMATION SUPER HIGHWAY!! Al Gore didn't invent the internet???
I'm not sure if I ever piped in on this one, but I liked Walter Cronkite the best. Probably for nostalgia reasons only though.

The next time someone goes, make sure to observe guests from other countries coming off this ride. They'll likely be chattering about "Well, at least we know why American students lag behind...."mindflipper wrote:How about the Islamic and Jewish Scholars of the Dark Ages being the "first back-up system" of information after the fall of Rome?!?Jacca5660 wrote:ROME....I REPEAT A ROME DID NOT INVENT THE INFORMATION SUPER HIGHWAY!! Re: Spaceship Earth Narrator...
The whole Dench narration is almost an insult to the entire concept of SSE. It is a watered-down, dumb-down version of both its predecessors. I did hear the Irons narration yesterday on the requested channel and remembered how good a job he did. Too bad they can’t have him re-do it….

Re: Spaceship Earth Narrator...
No, I'm glad they didn't have Jeremy Irons do the new narration. I would be more painful to think of him reading that crap that they gave Judi Dench...
Re: Spaceship Earth Narrator...
Amen. I would have loved to have seen (or I guess heard) Jeremy Irons do a NEW script that actually was intellectually put together and not "dumbed down". I realize that would be against our society's ways, but hey, some of us do prefer to be taught something on vacation or be listening to something that seems to be aimed towards our intelligence levels. I know a more intelligent piece would probably narrow the scope of the attraction because some of the demographics would not be able to get a good grasp on the script (younger kids), but if you are going to have an educationally focused ride, please do some educating with some sophistication! For this reason, I hope they don't update Ellen's Energy Adventure anytime soon....but then again, it is really dated and some of the "educational" information in it are outdated. Sorry for the rant!mindflipper wrote:No, I'm glad they didn't have Jeremy Irons do the new narration. I would be more painful to think of him reading that crap that they gave Judi Dench...

Frankly, I don't care who gave that current script to, it would still come off like crap. No one could save that narration, so I don't blame Judi Dench for it.
