How do you leave the parks?

With a tinge of sadness, and usually a bit of "let's hurry along" since we are trying to pack in just a few more things before we go!

"How do I leave the parks?" you ask - well, I usually leave through the exits. Is there another way out?

lol that made me think of the Disney dollars they had, I think I still have some somewhere packed away.

But I think I answered this post awhile ago lol but ya I just hang out and wait till the monorail lines are empty and then still take the resort monorail hehe for a longer ride. For EPCOT or MGM I do the same thing, just meander around and let the crowds die, rather wait looking at something then waiting jammed packed like sardines in crowds trying to get out.

Oh boy. Well, at the MK, we do just what about everyone else does. We watch the fireworks from Main Street U.S.A., and then we walk through the shops and take our time. By the time we've reached the train station, the crowd has died down a lot.

This past November 2004, we were at Epcot watching Illuminations. When the show was over, it was HORRIBLE to get out. There was such a large crowd. Everybody was going for the main Epcot exit. My best friend Heather and I left her parents so we could get to the buses faster. Well, when we got to the buses, there was only one line for one resort, and of course it was for Caribbean Beach. The line was huge. A bus finally came about after a half an hour of waiting. We just made it on the bus, but Heather's parents still weren't there because there was still the huge crowd coming from Illuminations. About another half an hour later, the bus came and we were able to get on. Any advice on exiting Epcot after Illuminations, because I really don't feel like doing that over again for our next trip.

After illuminations, RELAX. A really quiet area is by the koi pond in Japan, take a seat, use the restroom, and when things die down a little, start your stroll to the exit.

We leave slowly. We take our time, sometimes walk through the shops, stop to take photos, and the like. Usually by the time we get to the OKW bus stop the crowds have thinned out quite a bit. If the park is really crowded I will actually move off to the side and sit awhile and let the masses clear out first. I'm not in a hurry. Besides, once it gets a little quieter, you can hear the background music.

If the park is really crowded I will actually move off to the side and sit awhile and let the masses clear out first. I'm not in a hurry. Besides, once it gets a little quieter, you can hear the background music.

That was one of my dilemmas this past trip...once the park cleared out you could hear and appreciate the background music, but that was also the time when you could go on the attractions that were just too darned busy during the day. Attractions won out this time, I think maybe I can relax and get some good background recordings next time...maybe...

That's a pretty tough decision, really - but I guess, I would go for the attractions every time.
It isn't the same, of course, but I can get all the background music I want on subsonic's Background stream while planning my next trip - I can't, however, ride the attractions while I'm outside the park.
But still, listening to the background music where it belongs is unique, too...

Anyway, as far as the original question is concerned:
(I deny myself the chance to joke about the question by saying that I leave the parks by catapulting myself out on the foldable catapult I bring every tim for this purpose)

There are only two ways to avoid the crowd when it's time to leave the parks: Leave before the masses do - or leave after them. And, honestly: Who would shorten his or her stay at WDW voluntarily by leaving early?

Good point on the being able to listen to background music anywhere, but only being able to enjoy the attractions while you are actually at the park ~ I hadn't even thought of that

You got me there It can be pretty unhandy - unless you use several storage lockers to store it (*note to self: make the foldable catapult also dismountable*
