The first day is always Magic Kingdom and the first ride is always Space Mountain. They say I'll grow up some day, but I doubt it.

My preference is go to EPCOT right away, but sometimes my wife wants to hit the Magic Kingdom first.

Since we live in NC we usually drive instead of fly. We try to leave early enough in the morning that we can go straight to Fort Wilderness and have lunch at the Trails End. That always gets our trip off to a great start.

My first day tradition is to go to DownTown Disney and buy a souvenir that I can wear at the park. I also always make a stop at Goofy's and usually i got an apple, but now I have a new love for Pretzel rods!! I love me some of those pretzel rods.

Check into the resort, unpack the bags, get the camera and head for the park. Before going on any rides, we usually eat first. We really don't have any preference on what park we visit first. It all depends where the dinner reservations are!

Well the opposite is true here. I find it amusing when people complain about the "cold". I don't think it is that bad, I like the cold, I hate heat. The Statement that everyone I know has heard from me at some point is "you can wear more layers, but you can't take your skin off" that is the truth too. If you are REALLY hot what are your options? Pool, yes, air conditioning, yes, shade, maybe depends on the Humidity, ice water, only for a short time, etc etc etc. What if your not near a pool, then you are out of luck. And if you are in air conditioning then what is the point of being where you are?

Meh, thats all I have to say about the heat, Meh

That is almost exactly what I was going to write. Good method!

So true, on our last visit to WDW in November, the nights were in the 60's and I saw people walking around with jackets on! We were all in shorts and long sleeve t-shirts thinking it was summer! We are from the northeast so 80 during the day and 60's at night were perfect!!

I do think however your blood gets accustomed to the weather so people tend to not feel the regional warmth or cold like visitors - sort of like the first 80 degree day in the northeast feels like 100 sometimes. I personally NEVER get used to the heat, and the older I get it seems to get worse (and I'm only 35).

EDIT: Sorry, lost track of the thread here - first thing we do is grab a bite at the Boardwalk (if staying at those resorts) or head to MK (if staying at any other). First thing we do in a park is stop, look around, and take a deep breath to get our minds off the rest of the world and fall deep into "the world".
