I noticed that this season that they kept adding more PI after the initial deadline.

I had a second round interview for College Program Education Coordinator a few weeks back and hope to hear back from them sometime this week.

If I dont get it I already accepted a merchandise CP starting June 15th (I did Attraction CP in 05)

Just hang in there...and hope for the best

Today is my birthday, and I received this e-mail in my inbox: (E-Mail isn't good news)

Hi Derek,

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you a position for our Animal Technology internship. During the middle of our recruiting process, that particular position was dissolved. Since the internship no longer exists, we were unable to offer you a position. This was an unusual situation. Our apologies for any confusion. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us.

So it looks for my quest to return to Florida again for more than a vacation continues in a different direction. I will continue to find my way down there. Life throws you obstacles, its how you overcome them.

"Brick walls are there for a reason. They give us a chance to show how badly we want something"

Thank you all for your support. I appreciate it, and I will continue to stay cheerful and look on the positve for everything, and as always, continue enjoying all my friends here and the great music here on Subsonic Radio!!
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Happy Birthday!

I would keep a positive attitude about everything. Is there anything else you would be interested in doing at WDW? I really hate that the position was dissolved because that means other people there lost their jobs too I assume. You'll have to keep us up to date if you get in any other way. Hope you have a great day today though...despite all of this!

Happy Birthday Packwinfn.

This seems to be a common trend these days. Sorry to hear about this, but don't give up hope, there are plenty of opportunities in the "World of Disnay" You will just have to look in another area. Keep your spirits up and you will succeed.

Happy Birthday, friend. Don't lose hope- Walt sure didn't.

There will be other opportunities to work at WDW, perhaps the alumni program?

Happy birthday packwingfn! You'll get to work at WDW soon! Just keep your head up and don't give up! I'm currently in college for Crime Scene Tech but part of me really wants to work at WDW also. I also have taken looks at careers up there (i say up there because i live in south florida lol). Hang in there and one day youll see Mickey on your pay check lol! :mickey:

Thanks everyone for all the support. It really brings a smile to my face
:D
I am taking this as an opportunity to look for a plan B, or plan C, or plan D. I am planning this summer to keep my seasonal status as a World Showcase Custodian and probably going to work a few days in late June. So if any of you are having vacations the last 2 weeks of June, It would be nice to meet some of you people, and maybe you can throw some popcorn on the ground for me to sweep up lol

I did send them an e-mail as I figure an E-mail won't hurt and shows that I really would like the position in case it happens to open up in the future. This is what I said:
Thank you for notifying me. I understand your decision, but I just have a few questions for you.

I also applied for 2 other internships this term, which were Management Operations and Labor Operations System Sustainment Internship. I was wondering if I was still be considered for either of those two positions. I was also wondering if I would still be considered for the Animal Technology Internship if this position reopens next spring even though I graduate this month?
I will keep you posted if they respond back, and whenever I decide and figure out my alternate plans.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Boy I wish I were going to WDW this summer. Looks like I won't be able to head back down there for another year or two! I guess that's the luck of the draw when your girlfriend is a teacher and she can't go this summer. I am really hoping I can make it down for the 40th Anniversary in 2011 because I was there for both 15 and 25.

I think your email was a good one and hopefully you will be able to get another internship at WDW.

Update:

I never received an e-mail from Disney but I did go down for 2 weeks in June to pick up some shifts at World Showcase. It was good to be back down there "living" for 2 weeks as I stayed at my friend's apartment and had a rental car. I worked about 4 shifts which really made me feel like I was back down there instead of more of just another vacation. I hope to return there after I finish my car loan by the end of the year. I even met a girl down there who I'm dating right now too :)
