Yes, take your time! Maybe watch Illimunations from a country, then leisurely stroll through the rest of the park and stop and look around at all the details. Make a last minute potty break just in case you do have to wait in line for an hour. Another (more pricey) suggestion would be to stay at the Boardwalk, Yatch Club, or Beach Club - that way, all you have to do is walk home. Laughing

Anyone out there have any other suggestions for Siriouslydead?

Thank you very much! That's a good idea. We usually watch Illuminations from France, because we like that spot the best. We could just walk slowly through the countries and take our time. I would love to stay at the Boardwalk. I'm definitely planning on doing that one day.

Thank you for the adivce :D

Try Canada - they have the great upper area where you can watch and you're that much closer to the exit. I would also recommend waiting at the Fountain of Nations and watch the show for a few minutes while sitting on a planter wall to let the initial crush go past.

Not sure if MGM has come up yet but if you do skip Fantasmic dip out just before it lets out and you'll have no problems. They did a good job funneling us out in Jan. from Fantasmic, they sent us through some back areas and right out to Sunset Blvd. They kept the flow going and we just cruised out and walked to the car - bypassing the packed trams...

We handle all the parks the same...

Watch the night shows Wishes/Illuminations/Fantasmic

Then do the shops and take our time before we walk to the resort bus line.

Sure beats running with the crowd

I had to chuckle because back when I was on the college program, I could just duck backstage, catch a bus back to my apartment, and avoid the nasty crowds altogether.

However, reality hit when I went back and had to leave through the main entrances like any other guest even though I'm technically still a cast member! I was there in March and my trip buddies and I would do a combination of exit procedures: we'd either just say the heck with it and leave with the crowd, hang back and browse in some shops, or since we've all seen the shows so many times, leave during them or just after. Once, my friend and I watched Illuminations from just in front of the Fountains. That worked out nicely because we could still see just about everything (the monorail track cut down on visibility), but when it was over, we were all that much closer to the exit than everyone who had been watching it from around the Lagoon.

Oh, if you're driving and can manage it (perhaps by telling them you're dining at a Boardwalk resort), watch Illuminations from France or the UK, exit through the International Gateway and get to wherever you parked the Boardwalk, get in your car, and you're off!

Now, after going a few times, we finish what we want, then leisurley stroll along and stop at whatever shops we want, or just look @ all the details in the park. By the time we reach the exit and the bus stop or boat launch all the crowds have diminished and we get to our resort unstressed.
That's the way we love to leave the parks now!
sshhhhh, if you tell everyone, then we will all be doing the same thing and then it will backfire. :)

Actually, my favorite way to leave EPCOT is the International Gateway back to the room. Little further walk, but then I'm not waiting on anyone, either.

I always think about plans backfiring. There are some 'secrets' at WDW, for example, like one line for a ride is better than the other. If so many people know that, then they'll all go to that line instead, and then people will go to the opposite line, and it continues on and on. I remember thinking about that while on line for Space Mountain and Dinosaur.

We relax & shop our way out. This also gives you the opportunity to get great pictures of the castle at night without crowds standing in your pictures!

We take our time leaveing. We stay on ground, so we use the transportation system. We found that if you leave with everyone else you just stand in line for about an hour + - waiting for a bus. And if you are staying at an All-star resort we find there are about four buses going to the more expensive resorts to every one that goes to the all-star. So we just roam trough out all the shops, and the lines are a minimal when we leave.

It really depends on where I am staying. I mean, if my wife and I are staying near or at a Disney Resort, we take our time. Traffic can kill your Disney buzz. But since we only live an hour away, sometimes we just drive home. When we do that, unfortunitly we rush to the exit... sometimes we cut out early. I hate doing that.

We always stay on property so we go out to the buses. Usually we are in no hurry so we head over and do some shopping and maybe get a soda. I like to watch people run like crazy for the gates. It's quite funny.

I agree, it can be quite funny. Here's a tip for all staying @ the Allstars Resort - We were staying 2 nights @ Allstar Sports and the line was 4-5 bus loads long. The line for Allstar Movies was not even 1 bus load long. You can guess what we did . . . we got on the Allstar Movies bus and just walked back to Allstar Sports. It's about a 10 minute walk.

Anyone know how the transportation for the Pop Century is? I think we are going to stay there next year and was just curious. We usually stay at All Star Movies so I know how much fun the buses are.

It's actually quite good. We stayed there last October and will be doing so again this October. There is only one bus stop (not 3 like the All Stars) and it is right outside the food court/gift shop. The only bad thing is when the parks close, there is a long line due to the number of people who stay at POP. Good luck in your decision, its a great resort! :D

Thanks for the info. That's probably where we will be staying.

Are the lines in mid August as bad as July? We used to wait for hours to ride stuff. Then we started going the last week of August. Now my little one is going to school so that is out.
