You mean to tell me that they clean HM? When I was there it looked like they did a bad job dusting and missed a few cobwebs!

They were really, really into it that night. I imagine the corpse-like makeup they were all wearing helped a lot.
I was impressed with how many cleaners went in. I think there were about 7, plus some kind of managerial-looking guy. They were chomping at the bit to get in there too; it was kind of funny. All of 'em standing right at the exit but they couldn't go in until we passed outside; not even right when we were at the end of the hallway. Then they raced in at top speed. I didn't see the cobweb-sprayer though. A pity.

I was just there in December and I loved the new look I think it was done well without killing the original version.

For me, what stood out most was the cleanup done on the ghosts and all of the effects. Everything was lit much more, and details that I never noticed in the old version were clearly visible. The ghosts, ironically, looked more lifelike than ever. However, the audio in the stretching room was splendidly done. I can't wait to be 'home' in 42 days!

I doubt I can say too much more than what has already been said, but I love what has been dome with the HM... I love that they did a lot with the attic scene.. it is really kinda creepy and very cool and added a lot to what was, I think, a kind of neglected part off the ride.

I too don't have much to add but because I'm a huge Haunted Mansion I wanted to say that I absolutely love what they have done to the ride!! The attic scene just fits right in with the folk lore and I really love all the details in that attic. I could ride and ride and still not see it all in there...that would be one very cool thing one day to be able to walk around in the Haunted Mansion LOL!!

I agree. The attic scene used to feel like it was sort of dashed together. It never really "fit" with the rest of the mansion. Neither did the spiders. Although they were creepy, seeing the black painted corners sort of ruined the effect. They seemed a little Jaycee haunted house-ish (as a former Jaycee, I can say that).
Now, those problem spots are amazing spots. Incredibly, after the rehab the ride flows together better--and is SO much more creepy.

I got to experience the ride post-rehab for the first time this past January and I've got to say that I absolutely loved what they did! I can't add more to what everyone already has said, but the whole attic scene really gives the guest a more complete picture of the bride and her former grooms. The added staircase scene and the fresh audio really makes this ride even better!
Next time I go, I'll have to hang back in the stretching room and pay attention to the whispers...I somehow missed that!

It's definitely easier to hear them when the attraction isn't crowded. If there are a ton of (noisy) people filtering out of the stretching room, it's easy to miss them. I'd recommend trying to hit one of the last rides of the night. I suppose first thing in the morning might work too, but I never get there that early so I can't swear to it.

The refurb was really nice except the Sinister 11 are no longer 11 and are no longer prominently displayed in ride (load doesn't cut it!) I always preferred them over the DL paintings.

I agree, I prefer the 'eyes following you' pics. I was glad to see they didn't end up in the dumpster, though, at least. But the effect doesn't work as well in the load area.
