How many WDW restaurants have you eaten at?

Post by Jacca5660 » Jan Wed 28, 2009 4:39 pm

Since we have thread on how many resorts have you stayed in, I was wondering how many restaurants have y'all eaten at? I will have to think about this myself before I can give an answer. Actually, I'll have to get with my DW and compare notes.

Only counting WDW, because I can't really remember DL, and including the resorts and Downton Disney, I've eaten at 42 counter service and table service restaurants. I did not count any snack carts or kiosks or any place that only really serves snacks like the Main Street Bakery or Fountainview Cafe.

Man. This may take a while. I'm counting a dozen and I haven't left the EPCOT resort area!

I'd say close to 20...counting WDW and Tokyo Disney.

Okay shall I list them all from over the years... I'll start with resorts

Beach Club: Cape May Cafe
Boardwalk: Spoodles, ESPN zone, Big River Grille
Contemporary: Concourse Steakhouse (now defunct), Chef Mickey's, California Grill
Dolphin: Shula's
Poly: Kona, Ohana
Swan: Garden Grove
Wilderness Lodge: Whispering Canyon
Yacht Club: Captain's Grill
Downtown Disney: Planet Hollywood, Wolfgang Puck Cafe,
Animal Kingdom: Breakfasaurus, Rainforest Cafe
DHS: Prime Time, Brown Derby, Sci-fi
Epcot: Le Cellier, Japan(before being redone), Rose and Crown, Marrakesh, Garden Grill
MK: Tony's, Liberty Tree

So added up I have eaten at 27 different restaurants on WDW property. This is in addition to the numerous bakery's, table services.

Okay .. I've been thinking about this for the past few hours (slow work night). I'm going to ballpark it at 49. I had to break it down by resort area to figure it out - and even then I forgot about the Contemporary until I read Len's post. I keep remembering other places.. some of which are defunct now. It's a big list.

That's not counting the snack places or kiosks and the like.

Exactly. I just can't remember every single place we have eaten over our numerous trips to WDW. I think I got all the table service places though which makes me happy. However, I have no clue as to which counter service places or bakeries that we have eaten at. It is really scary when you think about it as to how many restaurants there are in the world.

They are all blending into the experience. I can't name them all. However, we're looking forward to Chef Mickey's this summer. Not sure if we're doing character dining or not.

My DW and I have tried to figure out how many places we've eaten at. I did not realize what a task it would be. As close as we can get, it's in the 45 to 55 range depending if you count counter services. Lets just say it's been very enjoyable!

I have to have eaten at every CS restaurant in the parks at least once, minus a couple of restaurants around WS since nothing at those places has ever tickled my fancy. TS restaurants is a different story - I'm not a big fan at sitting down every night and missing time at the park, so I generally stay away from the TS places, but I have been to a few:

ESPN Zone
Spoodles
Big River Grille and Brewing Company
Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Tavern
Rainforest Cafe
Planet Hollywood (does that count?)
50s Prime Time Cafe
Garden Grill
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Ohana
Chef Mickey's
Sci-Fi Drive In
Wolfgang Puck
Trail's End
Empress Lilly (Once upon a time)

Is it still a vacation if you don't eat out a least a few times. Let's face it, when people ask how was your vacation, the conversation is going to get to the places you've eaten really quick.

Yeah you're totally right Jacca. When I was younger, we would plan at least a restaurant for every day we were down there. However when I go down there now, I'm not really big on reservations at restaurants unless it's something I really want. I just hate having to assign certain days to certain parks. I like the "let's do whatever park we feel like doing" on a particular day.

As far as my list goes of restaurants I ate at, I will have to think a little bit before I post here again because it's defnitely been alot
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

I'm with you packwingfn, we don't like to make a bunch of ADR's b/c then you're tied down to having to be at a certain place at a certain time. We have a few favs. that we make a point to eat at. The rest is usually whatever!!! Part of the fun is eating out on vacations though. But we usually like to fly by the seat of our pants once we're at WDW!!! One of our must eat ats is Sci-Fi. We just love it!!!
