I was 8. It was 1972 and a lot of construction was still going on. The topiaries (I hope I spelled it right) were magnificent to this then 8-year-old. I had a picture made with me and my dad at the gallows. I remember barely being tall enough to get the picture made.

He passed away 5 years after that and I didn't return until 2004. We took our son who was 4 and finally in 2007 we got a picture of the two of us on the same gallows. I cried like a baby when we got the picture printed.

actually, they are stocks, not gallows. gallows are used to hang people (eg - the opening sequence of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End with the line of prisoners)

I first went in 1978 (when I was 18). The previous year, my folks took us to Disneyland. In '78, since we were in Florida, my mom suggested we spend one day at WDW. All we heard once inside the Magic Kingdom was "this sure isn't Disneyland." My mom was not impressed. We didn't return until I took my wife there in'99. It was her first time (26 years old). For those of you doing the math, I'm 13 years older than her.

On that trip, my wife and I both fell in love with WDW and ended up returning twice a year until 2003, when my daughter was born. In 2002, we had finally talked my parents into joining us there. (My mom did not want to come.) After four wonderful days all we heard was "Disney World sure has it all over Disneyland." As soon as we returned, they wanted to schedule the next vacation there.

I was 6 months old. Don't remember much :D My parents were in Florida for a friends college graduation. Of course that was years ago and I've been back about a dozen times since. Right now I'm planning a trip with my wife and daughter who will be 2 when we go. OF course the grandparents all want to join in for her first trip. :mickey:

I was in middle school, it was 1986 or 1987. Unfortunatly I don't remember a lot, but I know I *LOVED* Captain Eo, and Journey Into Imagination- starting my lifelong love of Disney, and Epcot in particular.

I am planning to spend some quality time with Figment and the rest in February!

I was 4 years old during my first trip and I mostly remember swimming in a pool with my Dumbo inflatable swim ring! Other than that I remember most of the trip through small and blurry pictures with a few characters. Oh, I wish I had better memory.

I was 11. I think it was the perfect age to go to WDW the first time. I remember the trip, but was still young enough to see it through the eyes of a kid.

I was 3. I remember staying in the Disney inn, and even the plane ride...Delta, it was. But I can't remember a thing about the parks! Very sad.

I was 35!
When Disneyland opened in Anaheim in 1955, I was 4. I saw those wonderful Walt Disney Presents programs on TV and wanted to go so badly. But we lived in the center of the USA and air travel was too expensive, and Dad never had enough time off for a driving vacation. I got married at 19, had kids at 24, and it took me the next 11 years to save the money for the WDW trip. It was THE BEST vacation I have ever had. Everything was already paid for and we stayed in the Contemporary and ate where ever we pleased. To this day (20 years later) it is still the most memorable vacation. My wife and daughters and their husbands and kids are meeting there again in June for another vacation of a lifetime. My wife and I now go to FL or CA nearly every year (with or without kids) and still have a great time - nearing 60 years old!

Even though I was in middle school when I went to Disney my first time, last year, we took my nephew, (my brother's son) when he was 8 months old.

Yeah I know he won't remember it, but he enjoyed it, and his first ever ride was, appropriatly Dumbo! :)
