My DH and I LOVED Coral Reef when we ate there for our honeymoon (12/06). We would definitely go back again. You can also watch the divers as well. Which is really cool! (Being a diver and doing Dive Quest I've enjoyed waving at everyone eating in the restaurant!) As delray mentioned, you can go online and check out the menu. The atmosphere is awesome and we enjoyed our food! We give it two thumbs up!

Funny how when you ask people's opinions the thread lights up w/responses! Having said that, here's my two cents.

The atmosphere is pretty cool. It has that underwater feel and it is tough to beat a gigantic tank to look at. When we were there was a 100+ year old turtle hanging out right in front. The kids loved that, as did the adults. The divers, as boilerbabe mentioned, are fun to watch.

I grew up at the shore and I am pretty versed in seafood and I thouight everything was pretty good. I had a tuna steak and was very happy with it. We had a group of 12 people, all ages, and no one complained. It was not the best seafood I have had, but I would go back again and had an overall very enjoyable experience. And I smelt narry a fish.

We ate there for the first time this past September and we had no issues. My mom and I ordered the Mahi-Mahi and it was quite good but the rest of our group had mixed reviews on some of the other entrees(I believe they tried one of the specials, which was grouper). And of course, you can't beat the atmosphere. I say give it a try and see what you think.

IMHO, best soup (the crab bisque) and best dessert (Chocolate Wave Cake).

I'm not big on fish, but their mahi-mahi was better than the one I had at the California Grill.

It's on the right side of the Living Seas I believe.

I love eating there! I have had several different things but my favorite is the blackened catfish over cheese grits. Mmmmmm. What's funny to watch when you are there are the big, old fish who just stare into the restaurant making you feel bad for eating another fish. I think it's hilarious. :D

It's connected to The Seas. There's an entrance to the side (closest to the front of the park) to the resaurant.

this resturant is more about the atmosphere. Any view is great. food is not the best in WDW. It might be worth lunch if its open. Could save some $ during lunch too!!

It's pretty good but I consider it a crime to eat in Future World at Epcot with WS there :P

We've made it a point to eat there at each of our trips the last few years. IMO it was more fun when they had the chef's menu (a prix fix menu that offered an appetizer, entree and dessert all for a very resonable price) they haven't offered that in a few years though. The soup is excellent and although I don't remember the food being spectacularly wonderful I don't remember hating it either. So I think it's probably average. The views of the tank are wonderful and it makes for a fun dining experience. I'd definitely recomend it. As for the non-seafood choices, I know there are quite a few on the menu. I know there are many out there who do not like seafood but I do think it's funny that there are so many who want good alternative options at a restarant called the Coral Reef. That's like asking what are the non British or non Morrocan options at the Royal Crown or Restarant Marakesh. That being said, I'm sure Disney can produce pretty decent food at any table service restauarant short of the Sci Fi. So I don't think you'll be dissapointed if you choose the Coral Reef.

i love the coral reef, i used to go there
when i was a little girl and i'd get little
shrimp plate and some of my dad's
clam chowder. i loved when they'd put
those little plastic dolphins in your drinks
and how the theme was the little mermaid.
we'd always request a seat by the tank
just incase mickey would swim by.

the last time i went was in 2007 and i
loved it. everything about it makes me
feel so calm and i adore their food!

My wife and I go there on almost every trip (about 6-7 times, I guess). She eats steak, I eat seafood. We go for lunch when the prices are lower and there are fewer people. I'm not sure, but I think the lunch menu is not as varied as the dinner menu. Several persons have pointed out where you can see a menu. I've always been satisfied with the food, but we really go there for the atmosphere. It's a fun place to go. I'd recommend you give it a try.

I really like the seafood, and my husband has had good experiences with the steak. I don't recommend the lobster salad, as the best I have heard about it is "eh, so so." The Chocolate Wave dessert is awesome, although not as good as it was a few years ago before they messed with it and added the liquor flavor. (It was just all different chocolates before.)
I never smelled a fishey scent there.
The decor is amazing, also--not just the fishtank.
It is small, so get reservations.
