just bought my first ap. dont do alot of sit down dining so DDE might not help me out. i usually stay @ value since i go to the parks most of the time. that's where i hope my ap comes in handy. hopefully there will be some discounts for late june. My plan is to move my vaca back by 1 month and use the ap again!AKLRULZ wrote:With our APs we buy in to Disney's Dining Experience (for FL residents and AP holders). We save a ton of money on meals with this.

as mentioned before, buying tickets in bulk is the way to go (of course if you can afford the initial hit and will indeed use them all). my wife and i just bought a 10day park hopper plus water parks with no expiration, for both of us that was a little under $1000.
another way to stretch your money. say i have a two day park hopper plus waterparks, and intend on going to the water parks a good deal. i can take a 4 day trip, and alternate going to the parks and the waterparks. the "waterpark days" dont have to happen on the same days that you use your base ticket. you can turn a 10 day park hopper into 20 theoretically this way. if waterparks are your thing (and we love them) bling bling![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
another big thing for us is eating as little food in the parks as we can. now, we LOVE to eat in the park, so what we normally try to do is save money by bringing breakfast and snacks throughout the day, bring water bottles we can refill to keep from having to buy expensive drinks, etc. then we usually have a "special" lunch or dinner thats more costly and really enjoy ourselves.

We love the dining plan. We have a family of three and right now my son is still on the kids menu so it is a nice savings for us. We like the character dining and trying new restaurants in different disney resorts. My 7 year old had just as much fun dining as he did in the parks. He also has food alleriges and is taken care of greatly on Disney property. We have never had any issues. Also he never gets dessert out at home but at Disney he is treated like a normal child.

My last trip I decided to purchase the Florida Resident Seasonal Pass because the difference between that and the 8-day hopper ticket I was going to need was a whopping $7. I drove down so it was only the cost of gas and I stayed at Pop for the cost of $49.00 a night which was a great deal...my hotel was only about $400.00 and my dad treated for the deluxe dining so I didn't have to pay that!! So pretty much I went for 8day/7night trip for less than $900.00 out of my pocket and it now I don't have to pay for tickets for my May trip and my Sept. trip!!
My September trip will probably be my least expensive in that I only have to pay $505 for the resort and deluxe dining. Once again I'm driving down and a friend and I are splitting the cost of the room. So gas about $50.00 you're looking at $555 for a 9day/8night trip. We had a great pin code and I don't have to buy tickets!!

We drive down from Chattanooga. Stay at a friends house in Winter Haven. He's also a CM with a silver pass, so he gets us in for free. We bring food and drink with us. We have dinner back at the house. We can do a 5 to 7 day trip for a few hundred dollars.

I keep telling my husband that when we reach retirement age we are going to spend winters down at Ft. Wilderness.
I try to go as cheaply as possible but it doesn't always work out that way. I found a great way to save for my trip is to add money to a disney gift card for dining and such. I also like having the flexibility of ordering what I want and not having set things like on the dining plan. Saving $15 - $30 dollars a week for the disney gift card seems like nothing at the time but it adds up really quickly.
