i love mission space (both spinning and non spinning)

it's just another thrill addition to epcot, which doesn't have a lot of thrill rides to begin with. the spinning is nice when i want that thrill, and the non spinning is good when my family wants to tag along (they hate the spinning motion, makes them somewhat nauseous). pressing all of the buttons and flipping the switches is fun, and trying to get the ship to fall off the cliff in the end by dancing in the ship is also fun.

plus, i get an express pass cuz my parents work for HP, so i can go on as often as i want with a fastpass-bypass system

I really like MS cause its a different experience, but it's not one of those attractions like Sorin' that I want to go on again and again. Once each trip is enough!

I tolerated the green much better than the orange but I still want to do the orange again next trip - will have to use the dramamine or something a little stronger. Tried scopolamine patches but they made me goofy (and not the good kind) so they are out!!

My wife and I went on M:S the first year it was open, so we had no choice but to ride the spinner. Well, let's just say that the rest of that day was left to recover. It was intense, but a good intense.

I am glad they have the two "teams" and we now usually ride the Green. However, I am considering giving the Orange side a spin on my upcoming trip.

Are we there yet? When can we go back?

I don't know what's worse, the anticipation of going or the withdrawals after getting home.

I rode the original version once. It took about 3 hours to recover. Since then I have ridden the milder version once. I would much rather have Horizons back in that location so that I could enjoy it over and over again.
I guess the ideal situation would have been to keep Horizons and build Mission Space in its own new location, but I guess that's asking for too much.

Love it! What a blast. Rode it 2 times in a row!

I did that the first time I rode it, and had a headache for a few hours afterwards. Now I ride it, wait an hour or so and ride it again. It's awesome and never has a long wait. Although, it isn't as awesome as that spot's previous tenant. :-(

I like it. Rode it when it first opened and it didn't bother me too much. Now I take high blood pressure meds and went back last fall and rode the tamer version. I liked that just as much.

Funny thing: I'm a gigantic thrill-ride wuss. The teensy drop at the beginning of Pirates of the Caribbean gives me the willies. Yet I rode Mission:Space before there was a non-spinning version and never had the slightest bit of motion sickness. With all the signs in the queue area that warn you not to ride if you are capable of experiencing fear or have an inner ear, I expected a harrowing ride, but when it was over I was like "that's it?"

On the other hand, my wife, who's always making fun of my thrill-ride wussery, did get motion sickness. I'm told that the key to avoiding motion sickness is fixing your eyes on one point straight ahead and not moving your head at all.

Of course, I feel obligated to point out that Horizons was way better. :)

I think it's fantastic! I don't get sick on it, though.

It also helps when the people I'm riding with get really into it, press all the buttons, and pretend it's all real.

Yeah I agree with you natatomic. I think the ride is fantasmic especially when the people I ride with get into it as much as I do by pushing the buttons and really feel like a team instead of just sitting there being bored. You gotta have a little fun :)

I also love the whole buildup in the queue line :)

The last time I went, one of the people I went with got mad at me, because she was feeling a little ill and I kept yelling at her because she wouldn't push her buttons. I blamed the whole Mars landing fiasco on her too. She swore never to return to a Disney park with me again. Of course I think her mind was decided on that during the drive down when I kept singing along with the CD I made for the journey.

Hey, can anyone tell me if "half throttle" is less nausiating than "full throttle" I'm a little afraid to ride this again! We went on it when there was only one version. None of us felt too great when we got off of it!
