If You Had Wings

See, I like that song too, in addition to the Land and Horizons music. As bad as it is, it's one of the memories I have of WDW in the 70s when I was just a wee lad.

All Disney park music rocks, I'm sorry but its true. Wonders of Life has always been my favourite though.

I have to admit I like them both. But prefer the Land over Horizons.

Personally, I like both of them, though I must say that living in the land rocks! :mickey:

I don't mind either - it's just the fact they are so dated, especially horizons. As the land has had such a major rehab - the music should have been looked at, at the same time?

For all of you Horizons fans that miss the attraction, here is a video I found on youtube. It was posted by someone who thinks Mission Space should have a better soundtrack. I think it is interesting because he synched Horizons' music to the Mission Space ride. It kinda works, kinda.

I just listened to the Horizons soundtrack again today and I must say that it's not only better than The Land, but one of the best musical scores composed for a Disney theme park. Aside from the "New Horizons" song (which is little more than an excessively sentimental '80's pop song), a lot of the music has an oneiric quality that I find to be emotionally stimulating and, like the best Disney attractions, penetrates into the depths of subconsciousness. Furthermore the production value and application of synthesizers is rather tasteful, especially in comparison to an atrocious score like Disneyland's Space Mountain.

My favorite part of the Horizons score is the music behind the desert scene (with the tasteful harmonicas). That creates the perfect mood. I can almost feel the wind and taste the rain as the storm clouds roll in.

I also love the transition from the undersea music (which sounds suitably muddled) into the grand space music.

I like them both, although I prefer Horizons. Sure, the song "If we can dream it, then we can do it" is vintage '80s cheese, but I still like it better than that whiny R&B song "Destiny" that plays at Mission:Space.

See neither the land nor Horizons bothers me, it's the World of Motion "it's fun to be free!" over and over and over and over and over again. yeah, that bothers me.

I like them both but I think the Sci-Fi track is very painful...especially when those screams come out at work on my computer!

This is quite the cynical post with no out option other than agreeing that you have 'terrible taste' in music. Chernabog is obviously in the minority.

Wait a second, Horizons music is good! The Land has it's low points like some of the really country bumpkin type banjo/fiddle play that doesn't sound like the performers were particularly good (and most likely synthesized) but it's not "painful." Horizons omnimax, Space, and Atmosphere are some of the best tracks around depending on your mood!

If you want to talk about bad let's talk Paradise Pier and really anything out of DCA, Sci-Fi Drive-In Theater loop, or anything to do with the HM Holiday Overlay. Bleech.
