well I'm not that interested in character meals, so doing away with it might make me want to go there more, especially since a lot of people are saying the food is good.

I actually like the character meal @ LTT. It's great for the kids when you are with them and every time I have been the food has been great.

We've been once, and really enjoyed both the food and the characters. I'll admit, the space was a bit crowded for the characters to mull around, but that's no reason to limit the "Disney experience" we all go to find.

Boo-hiss on this decision.

We've eaten at LTT for lunch; actually we used to do that regularly but the food's really gone downhill in the last 10 years (I suspect that has something to do with the sponsor but I don't know). I was never interested in the character meal there so I can't say as I'll miss that, but it is pretty cheeky of them to nix the characters and still charge the same. :?

My wife has an egg allergy/intolerance, not bad but eggs will make her sick. So we ALWAYS talk to the chef at Disney World. (one of the reasons we like eating out at Disney, it's one of the few places she eats out with confidence.)

At anyrate, we've been told the ONLY thing on the menu that isn't made on property is the Stouffer's Mac'n'Cheese. Everything else is made by the kitchen's on property.

Some of the contractual food service things Disney gets into seem odd. The MickeyD's at Dinoland can't sell "Happy Meals" because one part (I want to say the burger patty) can't be supplied by MickeyD's. So it's not a "Happy Meal".

We love the LTT and eat there at least once each visit. We had both lunch and dinner in October of '07 and the character interaction was great at dinner; the food was pretty good also. Without the characters we will probably stick with lunch (great menu selection) and enjoy the theming.

I have been to this restuarant with my family almost every single time that I've gone to Walt Disney World, and it is my favorite place to work as well!! It is such an amazing place, not only is the food great but the atmosphere too! I would be extremely sad if they actually take the characters out. I'm writing a letter about it. Most of the people that I know go there not only for the food but because it is a character dining experience. The thing is the adults interact with the characters just as much as the kids do. I mean thats the point to be a child at heart and believe in the magic including the characters nomatter what your age. I will miss working there and when I go there I will miss meeting the characters. I love their outfits lol :mickey3:

Ah hell no, I loved the characters there. They had such a patriotic feeling and I loved the old time feeling.

Okay, just came back and was able to clear up a few things. The meal at Liberty Tree will be the same just without the characters. Secondly, Garden Grille will remain a character dinner. However, they will only be open for dinner. This move was influenced by the recent addition of designated character greeting areas in the parks. Disney is feeling that people don't want to spend that much for the characters when they can just meet them for free at those areas.

I ate at the LTT this past May for ym anniversary with my fiance. It was amazing! They decorated the table with "pixie dust" in heart shapes, and it was the onll meal out of all of the palces we ate we both truly enjoyed. The characters were great, and the staff was fantastic! My fiance said she always wanted to come there from now on, but for that price w/o the characters I know she would rather go somewhere else.

LTT is our favorite character dinner! We'll be sad to see it go.

So many great memories!! There is a huge advantage to paying the extra to see the characters during dinner because a lot of people would much rather see the characters without having to wait in long lines. Character dinning is the perfect way to have more interaction with the characters while eating, and no long waits. The petition is growing but could always use more support! http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/goo ... avern.html
Thanks to everyone trying to save the characters! :goofy: :minnie:

I've heard that Disney's long term plan is to just have character meals at the resorts.

I talked to someone at Garden Grille about that and he seemed to lean that way. However, there are no plans to get rid of the characters at Garden Grille at this time. They will remain the same for the foreseeable future.
