Most people don't get enough PhotoPass photos to make the CD worth $100. If it were for any PhotoPass purchase it would be a great deal. :mickey3:

I am going to debate this. However, with the Magic Your Way package you get a free 5x7 for each room. For us it is 2 free pictures, but the CD sounds attractive. I would say you need about 25 good pictures to make the CD worth it.

Hmm. I can't under any circumstances imagine getting 25 pictures, good or otherwise, taken by 'staff' photographers. Even on our honeymoon (before photopass came into being, mind you) I think we had... 5? At the outside. To have 25 from them that I'd actually want seems impossible to me. Maybe it's 'cause I don't have kids... do lots of people on here have lots of PP pics on their trips?

I agree with DisBeamer - I don't see how it would be worth it. I'm fine with having a cast member take my picture with the characters and saving the $100. The cast members do a good job - it's not like they're taking bad pictures to get you to buy theirs. In fact, on our last trip, the only picture that didn't turn out so great with a character and me was the only one that my sister took  . So with that out of the way, how many pictures can you possibly get with you and your family standing in front of the 4 theme park icons? Enough to make it worth the $100? Just my point of view...

We take so many of our own pictures that we don't feel the need to pay to have someone else do it. There are always friendly folks around that are willing to take your picture together, usually in exchange for doing the same for them! I think this is much more fun. :mickey:

I see Disney's incentive to have you pre-purchase such a plan, but I doubt I would purchase it.

I don't particularly like packages that you are forced to use to get your money's worth. I just feel that if you pre-purcharse that package your trip becomes more about getting every photo op with a character, then just enjoying the parks. I have purchased the disc after leaving the park. It was a few trips ago with the extended family, and the disc was worth it for the number of shots they had.

Even though I take 1000+ pics with my own camera, we bought this for our last trip and it was GREAT! We made it a point to find the photogs (early) and drag them around to various points for pictures. Plus, all the characters have their own PhotoPass photog, so we got pics with them, too. Then I went online and added embellishments, i.e., MNSSHP 2007, autographs from the characters, etc. When done, there were hundreds of awesome photos.

Sallyporche used it on her last visit, too. It was really neat because they did the portrait session at the Grand Floridian. The sitting fee was waived because they prepurchased the CD. The pictures were gorgeous!

I took advantage of this offer when it was available. We will all have our reason for or against it. My own reasoning for taking advantage was the fact that as I looked through many of the pictures that I have taken over the years, there are very few that have both my wife and I together in them. We do not have any kids, so handing them the camera isn't an option.

It was an opportunity that I was glad to take advantage of. It worked for me.
Are we there yet? When can we go back?

I don't know what's worse, the anticipation of going or the withdrawals after getting home.

We usually buy a few pics. off of our photo pass, certainly not $100 worth! We usually let the CM take the picture for the photo pass and ask if they'll take one with our camera too.

We used it for our last trip and had over 200 photos on it. I was searching for magic photos during our last trip and we were very successful. The only one that I didn't get was the soarin one with Mickey and friends.

Yep, as Calypso says, we did the photopass prepurchase and the photo shoot at the Grand Floridian. They took just over 50 pics at the photo shoot alone! We got to do all different kinds of shots -- I was specifically looking for some nice individual ones of my youngest to use for his senior pictures. It was great to have pictures of all of our family together. I tend to take a lot of my two boys, but not enough of me and the boys or me and my sister (who always goes with us), or all four of us. My oldest son also did the Typhoon Lagoon surf school and they had a photopass photog there as well. After cropping and embellishing, I had more than 300 pictures! I thought it was well worth it.

I'm going to get it again this Christmas, because we're taking our mom and our other sister and family. We should have LOADS of pictures!!!

just the fact that Disney gives you the rights to edit and print out the pictures with the graphics on it is well worth the investment. On our last trip I must of had over 200 pictures through photopass after all of the editing I did. Also having everyone in the photos is great as I am usually left out being the photographer in the family!

I just was at WDW last weekend, and I am very glad we did notpre-purchase anything! We barely saw any photopass photographers. In total we had 22 pics taken in 3 days, THATS IT! and that was only from about 4-5 times stopping. We took pics with over 30 characters, but only 3 stops had a photopass person. Mickey,Minnie, and the Princesses during MNSSHP. I was very upset about this.

I need to add my two cents as well. In 06 we bought it, and although we didn't have a horrible amount of photos taken, its nice to be able to choose which ones I want and print them at any time I want. That in itself is worth the price because the previous year we ordered 3 or four and it wasn't cheap, I want to say like $35.00. Now I have unlimited access.
