abenjen, we're dvc members and we find that if you vacation every year, or almost every year, dvc is worth it. as in, if you stay at a hotel for about a week a year and pay for entertainment, etc.
my hubby and i were going to wdw once a year when we got dvc (now we go around 3 times a year). we got dvc since we do plan on vacationing at least once a year...and dvc will save us money, reglardless of where we vacation (it already has).
if you don't go on vacation every year, or take lesser expensive vacations (like driving somewhere and camping, etc.) dvc wouldn't be worth it, probably.

Here is a quick update on the treehouses.
They have released floor plans. I have to admit the look really sweet.
Take a look for yourself

Good stuff on the floorplans, thanks. I've seen the blue-print layouts but these give the added feel with showing tree-like tables, stone floors, etc.
Does anyone know if a walk-through is available at Saratoga Springs? They have life-size models of other DVC resorts (most recent added are Contemporary Villas)but since this one is so unique I would love to check one out in Nov when we are there for Thanksgiving.

Even when my DSx2 where little they loved the tree house. We had to go see it "before" we went on Jungle Cruise.

Treehouses
The treehouse are opening soon, they are going to be part of Saratoga Springs. My lucky sister is DVC member there and is planning on booking to stay in them on her next trip! I loved staying in them when I was teenager, would always grab my fishing rod for some early morning bass fishing! Great to see they are returning!!

We saw them also, they look so fun! We would have to see if they have a rack rate just to check them out once, kinda like Saratoga springs having a non- DVC rack rate.abenjen wrote:I've always wanted to stay in those... last few times we went cast members (especially from the college program) were staying there. Staying at Port Orleans, we can see them during the riverboat ride to DTD.

The Treehouse sounds like soooo much fun! How exciting!
I wonder why they are re-opening them? Like what made them think of it now? I know they had a problem with something enviromental and of course the wheelchair access was a problem, but they worked that out.

I'm sure many people will take pictures and post them. And I'm pretty sure Disney will have a pro come in and take pictures for the website, brochures, etc.boilerbabe wrote:I would love to stay in the Treehouses!
