What Disney ride has the best queue???

Hmm.... Favorites for me would have to include the Rockin' Rollercoaster (for the thematic lead-in), Kali River Rapids ('cause it's neat, dangit), and Splash (because it's splash...).

A bit off topic, but have any of you been to Islands of Adventure? The queue area to the two roller coasters Fire and Ice are amazing and possibly even rival the queue to Expedition Everest !

wont go to universal unless i move to orlando.....disney gives sweet military discounts...universal was willing to be none....

funny how i also like disney b/c of their attention to detail, but i was looking for a cheap vacation.....make my reservations thru SOG and got park tickets thru them. universal only allows park tickets and no hotel discounts thru SOG. forget that their parks arent as detail oriented (from what i remember when i was a kid).

just compare Tot queue to the best univesal does. TOT, pirates and most of AK set the standard

Islands of Adventure is on par with Disney quality. It's got a different feel, but the attention to detail and quality are there. There are some exceptions...some of the stuff is a little on the hacky side, but the Spider-Man ride far exceeds anything Disney has put together.

Note that prices at Universal are a bit cheaper, a hotel stay (you can get good AAA discounts) provides you with a free go-to-the-head-of-the-line pass at all attractions, and everything is within walking distance, which saves a lot of time.

The Studios park is what you remembered as a kid, and while it has some fun attractions, you remember correctly that it doesn't have a Disney-esque level of quality. You can even feel the shift in tone when you go from one park to another. IOA is vibrant and alive and the Studios...well, they have a lot of asphalt.

Also Guy is right...even if you don't like roller coasters, it's worth walking through the Dueling Dragons queue. If you do like roller coasters, they are a fun pair, especially if crowds are light and you get to sit up front.

The Spider-Man queue is also fantastic. Just like Disney, though, they aren't all winners.

Getting back to the topic at hand, I was thinking about why I like the Maelstrom mural, and I believe it's because it's got that grand sense of scale. This country doesn't seem to do much in the way of icons any more...we don't seem to have the vision (or maybe the optimistic sense that anything is possible) to create more Golden Gate Bridges or Gateway Arches these days. We're leaving that up to the UAE, China and Malaysia for now, I guess.

That's also why I'm not really impressed with simulator rides or stuff like the animated characters in Mexico. I feel like that's the kind of thing a 12 year old with a Macintosh could create. But Spaceship Earth (not the descent, though!)...or the Tree of Life...now those are icons.

have to agree with the last two paragraphs Cptn! Maelstrom is a strong ride, with a well detailed map in the queue. Will the animted characters in mexico arent great, i feel they refreshed a stale attraction and the rest of mexico is strng. SSE and Tree of life...amazing...though I will miss Jeremy Irons

Maybe there are others that come to mind when from early days of childhood such as Pirates, Space Mountain, and then Splash Mountan but Hounted Mansion is the one that by far puts you in the moment especially with the new refurb. Before the refurb the sound was definitely sub-par but now after it sounds just marvelous.

hmm, I would like to think Test Track but it kind of gets boring after an hour of standing. I like Kilimanjaro a lot but it is always way too hot for me to enjoy it. And Pirates is pretty interesting, but you don't have time to take it in since the wait is never that big when I go on it.

my favorite has to be star tours it makes you really feel like you are in another world, the droid workshop is my favorite part and the ewok village outside adds great ambiance

Rockin' Roller Coaster. Although it's not the traditional queue, I also like the Voices of Liberty while waiting on the American Adventure.

I always liked the atmosphere created by the POTC queue in MK. For the first time ever though, we were sent down the right queue and it was weird not seeing the stailmate chess game, amory, and to hear the shovels digging.

Even if you narrowed it down to best queue in one particular park, it would be very difficult to answer.

I love the atmosphere of the HM. POTC is great! Splash Mountain is well done, as is Space Mountain. (It must be a mountain thing.)

At Hollywood Studios almost all of them are good to very good and the same goes for AK, in which some of the queues are like mini museums! EPCOT is hit or miss, mostly misses, i.e. Soarin'. But Test Track is good.
