First trip was in October 1982. I was 1 and a half years old My parents wanted to see EPCOT. The first trip I remember was in January 1986. We stayed at the Contemporary. Spent days at both MK and EPCOT. My brother had been born less than a year earlier and we wanted to stay on the Monorail line so we could get around easier (so my dad and I could ditch mom when she had to take care of little brother . I remember one night we were out so late (I was almost 5) that the Monorail's stopped running and we had to find a bus back to the resort. Was there almost every year, sometimes more than once, between 1982 and when I went to Purdue in 2000. I miss those vacations.
I was 35 years old and had been wanting to go to Disneyland ever since I saw Walt Disney introduce Disneyland to the word in 1954. I was 4 years old then. Various reasons prevented me from going to a Disney park until I was 35. When I finally was able to take my wife and two daughters (ages 9 and 11) I cried when I hit main street. And I still do. Every trip since then, about 10 or so, when I come through the tunnel under the railroad station and hear the main street music and activity, I get a lump in my throat. Then I turn into a 10 year old for the rest of my stay. I think having to wait to realize my dream made me appreciate it all the more when I could finally arrange a trip. That first trip 20 years ago is still my most favorite vacation ever.
I was 5 or six....I don't remember much about it, but I do remember that it was only the MK and the two (possibly three hotels - I can't remember what year the golf hotel and course were opened.)
MK opened 18 days before I was born, so it will always hold a special place.
I really only remember sounds and smells...and of course because my folks took us several times as we were growing up, I remember more and more of those.
Every time I smell the air or hear that faint rushing air sound from the monorail platform at MK, it sends chills.

I was 16 in 1978, and we had my 3 year old niece with us. I remember looking after her one afternoon so my Mom and Dad could have some time to themselves. I took her inside the castle so she could nap, and when she woke I took her on Peter Pan. She told my parents, "I saw real indians Mimi and Grampy, real indians!" In 2003, she rode with her 2 1/2 year old son, I have to admit I got a little emotional. Disney memories are the best!

WDW: 16 (ya, old, I know lol [ETA: ok, seeing some other replies maybe not that old afterall ]) I would have loved to have gone younger but I do kinda like the fact that I could take full control (almost) of planning the trip.
Disneyland: probably infant (have an aunt that lives near the parks, we were technically visiting her with a side trip or 2 to see the Mouse)
