My first thought was about that poor producer who has to sit and listen to people's horrible voices. The judges from AI get paid millions of dollars and I'm sorry but Disney will probably pay this dude practically nothing to listen to vocal nightmares. It will probably cut down on the ride lines though because people love hearing their own voices

Gotta wonder how much Disney paid to get the rights to use the Fox TV show.
Nope, this one doesn't really do it for me. I don't watch the show and don't really care to go see a talent contest gone bad when I could be enjoying myself at other attractions. I suppose it will go the way of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in the end. I just hope it has some appeal to drag the crowds away from Toy Story Mania when it opens!

Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

Sadly, last night, my oldest daughter said she was excited to see some of the episode of AI this Tuesday. I was aghast, since we never watch the show. Then I realized its on Tuesdays --- at her dad's house.
No wonder.
Wonder what the shortest life span has been for an attraction. Maybe it will be gone before we go back.

My kids will be too young to participate in this but I am certain they will want to watch auditions. I wonder how they will deal with auditions for folks from countries outside of the US. If they were to win, getting to an actual Americal Idol audition in a US city might prove to be a challenge.
I'm on the fence with this one. I am not a big Idol fan - not even the Canadian version - but I do like the idea of a cool interactive attraction, especially with the departure of Millionaire. No matter if's great to see investment in new attractions.

The thing that bugs me is that this attraction does not scream disney! Even though they renamed the park, Disney's Hollywood Studios shouldnt mean they can get any attraction/show that isnt Disney. This really bugs me as they are bascially selling out to get better attendence at a park that needs it...but please don't sell out to American Idol just because it is the "hot" show. This almost reminds me when Disney almost had the chance at HP...even though I'm not the biggest HP fan, that would have been better off then AI.
I'll go once to give the attraction a shot before judging it entirely but I have little hype over the one show I don't watch on television (probably one of the few).

I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

They are actually putting in a Hannah Montana/High School Musical themed version of the Bippity Boppity Boutique.mousemaniacs wrote:This horse is dead (or dying). Ratings are slipping, and Disney wants to get in now??? Why not jump on something more on the upswing...invest in an attraction that promotes your own brand (i.e. Hannah Montana, etc.).
While I'm not interested in this, I am surprised by the extent of the negativity here. Is it because this is a non-Disney franchise?
