Pop Century Bus Transportation - Playlist

Post by coco » Sep Sun 09, 2007 1:32 pm

Can anyone tell me the names of the tracks played on the Pop Century buses? I can recall four pieces of music, (Hound Dog, Grease, Witchdoctor and Star Wars/Cantina Band,) but the others escape me. If anyone can help me out it would be great!

having never taken a pop century bus (never stayed there), I was unaware that there was even music they played. I know that they do not (or at least did not) play any music on the buses to/from Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness campgrounds.

will be interesting to hear this for myself when I go down next year

Yes, music is played on all the buses I took when visiting WDW in August. They even play a fanfare when you arrive at your chosen park.

hmm. that's something new then. I know that there was nothing played when we went in December. only thing that happened is the driver would announce where we were and/or how long it would be till the next stop. Also, at night they would say when the lights would be turned off/on.

This is old news, the onboard background music was a part of the Disney bus fleet enhancement project. I can try to find the tracks that play.

If you could trace the tracks Disneynut, that would be cool.

I know a few more are Soul Bossa Nova (Theme from Austin Powers), and the disco mix of Star Wars, I'm trying to remember the rest, but its been a few months since I went down. :mickey: Hope that helps some

Many thanks jeph216. Don't know how I could have forgotten the Austin Powers tune!

This is the Pop Century Bus playlist I've compiled so far. Feel free to add to it:

Theme from Grease (Frankie Valli)
Hound Dog (Elvis Presley)
Witchdoctor (David Seville and the Chipmunks)
Star Wars Theme and Cantina Band (Meco)
Soul Bossa Nova (Quincy Jones)

I can't help with the list having never taken a PC bus (or any WDW bus in the past 3 years) however I'm wondering if there's music on all the buses now? Or just Pop ones? When did that start?

We stayed at the POR last July and the buses all had music. There was a fanfare when we arrived at the parks. I liked it but got a little tired of hearing the same tunes all week. Still, it keeps you in the character of the place and continues the "show".

Huh. Interesting idea. I can see how that would get a little tiring by the end of a week-or-longer visit, though, especially if you're at a resort that's more 'remote' to one of the parks and your bus rides are longer (say, taking the bus from CBR or Pop to the Magic Kingdom... or one of the buses that makes a lot of stops around the area like the ones around the Epcot hotels).
