JII is by far the biggest change for me and my wife, a change for the worst. They changed everything associated with the attraction. Very disappointed.

biggest blunder. Magic Kingdom shops, we went to the smuckers shop and they had a whole selection of 4 jams...all next to the register. but they did have a ton of costumes......i like stores that are unique makes the exploring of "all" fun and not repititious.

Tiki Room update is an embarrassment. They could have done a lot of wonderful things to it, but cheapened it instead. Oy!!

i think there are certain rides/attractions that are simply designed to keep large crowds captive to keep traffic flow and lines minimized. ie...Canada film.

The worst has to be the removal of the original Journey into Imagination, followed by Horizons, the removal of the old World of Motion, and the Tiki Room under New management. Oh, and just to show my age, I still miss If you had wings.

Non-theme park related: shutting down and giving up on animation that's not CGI.

Good call JWG! Just the closing of the studio itself in MGM really hurt. It was amazing to watch the animators actually creating the next hit, or flop. Either way it was awesome. And it was a great form of media that never should have gone away.

Figment was a poor ride, but my personal worst was in MGM "Sounds Dangerous - with Drew Carey". What on earth were they thinking. The lights went up afterwards and the audience just looked around at each other.

1. The crass removal of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.
2. The dumbing down of EPCOT -- Replacing charming, subtle attractions like World of Motion and Horizons with boring "thrill" rides and inferior incarnations, alteration of architecture, overabundance of Disney characters, etc.
3. The Tiki Room Under New Management
4. The death of nostalgia in Main Street, USA -- Eliminating the Main Street Cinema, House of Magic, the Penny Arcade, and others in favor of stores that sell the same crap as every other Disney store.
5. The giant hat in front of The Great Movie Ride.

I so agree with this! When it was finally over I turned to my husband and asked what the heck was that? Sounds Dangerous is one attration I tell everyone to stay clear of. Horrible attraction!!!

Amen! Being an art student with a big interest in animation or working for Disney somewhere in the field someday, I've been very outspoken about this. I just hope somewhere down the line they revive traditional animation and get back to their roots.
As for the theme parks themselves, I have to agree with the "dumbing" down of EPCOT. This used to be my favorite park until most of the classic rides I grew up with disappeared(Horizons, World of Motion, the original Imagination). I still very much enjoy EPCOT, don't get me wrong, but it's just not the same anymore.

since John Lassester came on board, they are doing hand-drawn animation again. I believe we have a thread on it somewhere.
