It was more than that - something like 3-4 years I thought. It lasted close to half year, more than just the Food and Wine Festival I think. It was between Germany and Italy I believe. It was very shallow, you just walked into a couple of fascade buildings up on stage platforms. Neat architecture but it was certainly temp. - it just felt like it and did not have a lot to see in the buildings, some travel info, a small photo exhibit, I think that was it. But it has been a bit now so I might have forgotten some details...

Man, how did I completely miss this? It has peaked my curiosity. Now, I'm going to have to look it up.Disneynut wrote:About two years ago at the Epcot Food & Wine fest. My guess is corporate sponsorship had something to do with the initial countries selected for representation in World Showcase.
The last few years during the Food & Wine Festival, Australia has also been "showcased" like Spain -- speculation is that if a new country is added, it will be one of those two.

On the EPCOT opening show, there was a reference to an African country being built. They showed the plans, but I guess all that came of it was the refreshment spot. I think that there is plenty of room between China and Germany to build at least two countries. I would like to see more South American or perhaps Australia.

Hey how about a Greenland or Antarctica showcase. They could have where you go inside a building that looks like an igloo and it is really cool inside. They could use the saem technology they used for a former soda shop that isn't there anymore. Imagine the inside having a glorious painting of the arctic and there could be large chunks of ice that you could touch. Maybe even a section that shows what scientist go through and what it is they are trying to accomplish for the future here.
