It's official, the Epcot Wand is coming down!

Hey I can't wait to see Spaceship Earth with out the wand, The last time I was there was 2003. I'm hoping I can get back to WDW next year.

I just received my free dvd planner video for 2007 and was suspicious because almost every scene with SSE showed it without the wand. Lots of old shots. Now I know why!!!

I am going to WDW in October 2007 and it will be strange not seeing the big wand at Spaceship Earth.

Its only been there 7 out of the 25 years....less than half. You should be excited to see SSE the way everyone saw it when it was opened. If they move leave a legacy....it would bring a tear to my eye how beautiful the entrance would be.

According to today's update [no live pics yet] it is down to E... So how long before the letters show up on ebay?

I agree - move the monster stones and re-build the fountain statue [remember that? at night it was really neat] out front and it will be a beautiful site once again. Won't be long at the pace they are going to get that thing down.

I had a scary dream last night. I had a dream that while removing the wand last night, I walked under it and pieces of it were falling off, I ran away as fast as I could and demanded that I would never go to EPCOT again after that travesty.

Man that was one scary nightmare

Ok - so would anyone else have found it amusing if they would have creatively pulled out the P-C-T and left the rest for a bit? The things you come up with at work, that's why they don't let me work with cranes obviously.
