Yacht Club Transportation

Post by Cheshire Cat » Apr Sat 21, 2007 6:21 pm

Our family is staying at the Yacht Club for our upcoming trip in August and I had a few questions that you guys might be able to answer regarding transportation to the parks from this resort. We've never stayed at any of the epcot area resorts, so any info will be much appreciated :)

We've had bad luck with buses at other resorts (especially OKW and Port Orleans), so how reliable are the buses at YC?
Since the entire boarwalk area is on the same bus loop, where is YC in the bus pickup/dropoff order?
Is it quicker to walk to MGM or take a boat? How long does walking usually take?
Is it reasonable to get to Magic Kingdom by walking through epcot to the monorail station or should we just take our chances with waiting for a bus?

Thanks in advance! :D (and sorry for being so inquisitive)

Used the bus for Magic Kingdom only on our stays at YC and never had issues. We've also hopped over through Epcot but that's not the best way unless you hop later in the day. We typically drive to AK, walk to Epcot and we also walk to MGM, but the boat is overall typically faster.

Enjoy - YC is a fantastic resort.

take the boat to MGM (not much of an option) but be prepared, it's very slow and takes a long time, but it's also very reliable. the bus to MK comes frequently, and the same with DAK. It takes a while longer for the bus to DTD and the waterparks. please, just walk to epcot. it's a three minute walk. it's my absolute favorite resort, please don't miss it.
-you're going to have to make it a bit bigger; they've actually got them here. And they're not made of plastic - Eddie Izzard

So the Epcot resorts are my favorite.. Actually Boardwalk is my favorite..

As per Transporation:

Forget the boats.. Its a 5 minute walk to epcot and a 10-15 minute walk to MGM.. One reason we love them so much.. Walking distance to our favorite parks.

Also.. This is a deluxe resort.. Buses are much better and much more often for the higher class resorts. We have never had a problem getting to AK or MK. However, we usually just hope into epcot and take the monorail to MK (unless of course their is an early opening or something then the bus is just grand).

Your going to love it and never want to stay anywhere else..

The boat to MGM is quicker, but If you just miss it (can see it pulling away) you usually can beat it walking. And during high traffic times like after fantasmic, walking is great.
