Kristos
I have heard rumors that they are no longer performing at EPCOT.
Can anyone confirm this? I am always amazed at their performance.

according to the website, they're in Futureworld at the Fountain Stage. I've never heard of this group either, but they look interesting. I hope they are performing when I go down in a few weeks...Mr.ToadWildRider wrote: I'm assuming performers in the WS but they sound Greek to me?

I heard rumors that they got rid of them too. I hope they are not true. I just saw them in August and they were amazing. I got some good pictures too and showed them to my girlfirend and she hasnt seen them before. I really wanted to show them to her.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

The Kristos are a mother and her two sons that perform more or less a balancing act that are sometimes hard to believe. The strength they have to have for these movements are incredible. I have found a few more pictures of what they do. If they are still performing you have to see them!

I heard these rumors several weeks back, and hoped they were inaccurate. The following is from another Disney discussion board and it appears the changes took place 10/1:
"The character line-up and Entertainment offerings of Epcot has made some semi-drastic changes. It has been announced to Character Cast that Space Mickey, Space Goofy, Nemo, the Living Seaweed, Pinocchio, Rafiki and Timon have all been indefinitely retired from the daily Epcot Character line-up, effective this week. Also retired from Epcot, has been the acrobatic performance group Kristos."

They look fairly creepy in the light blue and black/gray costumes...like a cross between a superhero and the gimp from Pulp Fiction.
On a side note: I'm glad to see some characters getting retired from Epcot (although the space characters are not cool
) ...if only they'd get booted from some attractions...both inside of them and outside of them...ahem *wand* *Nemo*

I spoke with some of the Kristos performers on a recent trip (either Jan 05 or 06). If I recall correctly, their 10 year contract was going to be up in a year or so. They had started performing at EPCOT in the mid 90's and at the time, it was the father, mother, and sons. The father retired a couple years ago. At the most recent performance I saw, they had a new performer as well.

Aaron
