I only know about San Dimas High School from an Ataris song so I guess its a popular school.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha

Water parks aren't big in this part of the country (everyone goes to the lake instead), and I can't say I miss them. When we go to WDW it's always mid-winter to early spring, and the water parks are often closed for rehab or it's too cold, or we just don't want to spend an entire precious day standing in line at a slide, as Blackie Pueblo said. Under the right conditions, though, I might be tempted to go to Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach has no appeal for me; I've seen enough of the real thing.

i passed on the Schlitterbaun just 2 years ago and watching discovery channel i have been kicking myself daily. then typhoon lagoon adds the rides from the schlitter that i wanted to try! so this October we decided on two water park days. a good chance to compare both. (i'll probably type up my opinion on both after our trip.)

Back from my week in Disney World and here is my take on both water parks i won't pepper it with words from a travel guide..i'm going straight for the gut on this.

Blizzard Beach: Lots of slides makes it great for getting on quickly... avoid the following Snow Stormers-too tight for the toboggan my shoulders jammed my neck. Slush Gusher-Ouch i felt every groove on each section as i passed. Teamboat Springs- ZZZZZZZZ oh puhlease too big too slow. Chairlift-My wife waited in line with the girls to take this nostalgic lift up while i walked....i waited 15 minutes for her to arrive at the top. i think this is a gimmick to get guests to waste time thus keeping the slides less full. laugh..Whats Great! Summit Plummet-even if your afraid you have to try this at least once. Cross Country Creek-whether you float or swim it...its fun! Downhill Double-Dipper- What a blast! i wish they set this up like the toboggan race! Runoff Rapids,Tobboggan Racers-top notch fun!

Typhoon Lagoon: After Blizzard Beach was made i thought...why would they keep Typhoon Lagoon Open? well its been 5 years and i go back and they have added a new ride Crush 'n' Gusher...this ride is worth the whole park..what a blast only downside to Typhoon lagoon is lack of more slides and Gangplank Falls. they need to rename it "dragbutt falls". Typhoon Lagoon has more nooks and hidden rest spots then i remember...don't get the garbage pail ice cream..oh my we saw that and thought...who could eat it all? its a kids sand bucket full of ice cream and whipped cream and toppings. the wave pool is a blast too!

overall...if you want variety...go blizzard...if you want atmosphere and alot of fun wrapped up in a few slides...go typhoon. either way...add one of the parks to your next visit. they close at 5 which gives you time to head back to the hotel...shower and still get a few hours of fun in for the evening.

I'm a big fan of themeing (imagine that), so I love them both. And with all the stuff you won't see other places that Typhoon has (shark tank is awesome), it's easily the best I've ever been to.

There's a sight I found that compiles multiple sources to try and create a comprehensive list on recreational sites. It rated Typhoon Lagoon as the best water park in the country and Blizzard Beach third, behind Schliderban (sp?).

My g/f's been to all three, she says Typhoon is easily her favorite as well.

Been to several water parks and Typhoon Lagoon is my favorite. The original tropical water park (the closest one to me, a Six Flags Hurricane Harbor, is a cheap knock-off of TL) has a great mix of slides, lazy river, and of course...the famous wave pool.
