To those of you who live so close, are there rediculous traffic problems because it's so close? Is the benifit of being so close when you want to visit overpowered by the frustration of so many tourists?
Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle until the ride comes to a full and complete stop. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day here at Walt Disney World.
I worked for an airline that was starting service in Ft. Lauderdale. At the end of my stint training the agents I decided to rent a car and drive up to Orlando for a spontaneous one day trip. I drove up in the evening, spent the night at All Star Music, and the whole next day at Epcot before flying out that night. It was a very satisfying fix.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.
Well, my spur of the moment romantic "couples only" trip went off without a hitch with barely less than 36 hours to plan! My wife was surprised, we had a lovely stay at the Contemporary in a junior suite, and had some amazing dining experiences at Jiko and California Grill (the two that stood out the most).
It wasn't a cheap spur thing to do (especially with that dagone airfare) but it sure created a fun lasting week of Disney and romance!

We've been going every other year, and I usually make the ressies about 8 to 9 months out for those trips. We have a family trip planned for this December that I booked back in March.................... and I just made ressies for a "girls" only trip the end of September
so I have 2 months to plan this one out and this is as "spur of the moment" as I get

I told my wife and daughter we were going camping in Florida for the weekend. We live 3 hours away from Pensicola, Fla., but 12 hours away from Walt Disney World. By the 6th hour, I was questioned. I told them I wanted lotto tickets from Georgia. When I turned south on Hwy 75, my wife knew. My daughter fell asleep on the way. She woke with a smile.

Spur of the moment is pretty much how we plan all our trips.
Shortest time frame was the night before we left. Right now our next trip was planned one month in advance (which is loooooong for us), and we are just dying with anticipation. We took a Disney cruise which we planned about 2 and a half weeks before sailing. That was fun!

Man, this is what makes me miss living in South Florida. It's so nice to be that close.fecns wrote:well my girlfriend would come over around 8:30 am from collage and we would just drive up and be there in 3 and a halfhours and spend the day.

I guess that depends on the definition of "spur of the moment". Our quickest was deciding about 10 days before we left. A friend's parents work at WDW and were able to help us out immensely. Three nights lodging on WDW property and Park Hopper passes for my wife and I, all for a TOTAL of $181. I'll never be able to top that deal.

My wife and I just did a spur of th moment trip for this past holiday weekend. It's nice to do these, but you don't get to stay in a Disney Resort. We had to stay at the local Motel 6. Still had a good time though.

I guess this next trip in January is my "spur of the moment" especially since I just got back from disney with my family at the beginning of August and now I got invited by the girlfriend's family. It was very spur of the moment for me I guess.
I know this is probably your first flight...and it's mine too...ha, ha
