Wow, how sad.

The thing is, some people (including Disney) get mad at the deceased guest, saying that it's their fault for not reading the safety warnings posted in the queue. Unfortunately, some people don't know that they have a heart condition until they go on a turbulent attraction and have to learn it the hard way.

When I have a loved one pass again... (and I've had many actually)....I would want it to happen that way.... quick and happy....not a long drawn out and painful death. I send my prayers to the family...
It's interesting, I was discussing that same exact sentiment with a co-worker on Friday. I was talking to her about her plans to take her son to Disney this winter and was having second thoughts because of all the incidents in the news over the past few months. After a long talk and showing her many of the articles on the web and on this site about them, She was convinced that the parks were not at fault. She seemed adament about getting her son a physical to try to determine if he had any unknown conditions, and then stated that she would wish when he were to pass, whether next year, or in 70 years, he couldn't go in a happier place having a great time.
Please keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle until the ride comes to a full and complete stop. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day here at Walt Disney World.

I think Disney is a target why don't you hear about other parks that have more intense rides, I am shure they have there share. Sorry for the family on this tragic time. Disney parks aren't there to have these tragidies, there there for fun

I live very close to a local park in New York called Rye Playland. It's is owned and run by the county of Westchester in New York. They had a death just this past week, not sure of the reason why. The local news barely reported it. Last year a child around 6 or 7 died on a dark ride. He was alone and left the boat and it appears he did drown. Two years ago a child around the same age died on another ride. Disney is not alone. The press just loves to talk about Disney because of the size of the Disney Corporation. I believe Disney is the safest in the field of many theme parks.

It's very sad that this had to happen, and I cannot imagine the pain the family feels. At the same time, it's also a shame that the same amount of coverage isn't given to show that Disney was not at fault as it was when the incident first happened.

can u imagine how horrible it would be to lose a child like this? losing a child at all is too much for me to imagine. i think it'd destroy me if i lost any of my 4. i came extremely close once & that was terrifying enough. i'm not strong enuf 4 that situation. but 2 lose a child on vacation, at the happiest place on earth. wow...would u ever go back? could u? i donno if i could. even if it's not disney's fault. i doubt i could ever go back.
