Renovations at Wilderness Lodge

Post by iloverags2 » Jun Sat 03, 2006 3:28 pm

Has anyone seen the renovations they are doing at WL? Apparently the 6th floor is finished and 5th floor is almost complete. New headboards, bedspreads, and furniture. But the best part...plasma TV's! So looking forward to our next trip.

Anyone been to WL since the new additions to the rooms? What were your thoughts?
Cindy

You can check out the photos on Deb Willis' site - they're very nice. I actually liked the decor better the old way but I really dig that new plasma tv and unit! Super cool! 8)

What is the address for the website? I would like to see the new rennovations.
When I was at the Contemporary resort, they said that they were going to rennovate it, making it more classy with Brass and black colors and such. Has anyone heard any word on this?

Hey James! The Contemporary rennovations are in full swing and many rooms have been finished! Check out the photos here: http://allearsnet.com/acc/g_contm.htm

The Poly is also undergoing a major redo: http://allearsnet.com/acc/g_poly.htm (find the photos under the Hawaii Longhouse section)

The link for WL is here: http://allearsnet.com/acc/g_wl2.htm

The Contemporary really needed the rehab - I've not stayed there since I was a kid but we're very much considering bookig a stay there as my kids are begging to stay in the tower. Glad you enjoyed the site. :D

DWL is our favorite WDW resort. I knew that renovations were going on, but had no idea about the plasma tvs.

Oh how fun! I love Wilderness Lodge! Plasma TVs are cool (not that we watch all that much when we're there)!! Woohoo!

New bedding and headboards and Tvs! Oh my!

Disney must have gotten some kind of deal on the plasma tv's. They are popping up everywhere!

If you have the urge to add some of the old WL theme to your home, I saw where you can actually buy entire furniture sets from the old rooms at:

http://www.mousesurplus.com

Now if they offered some of those comfortable leather chairs that used to be in the lobby, I'd grab one pretty quick. Those were some of the most comfortable chairs I have ever sat in. Round it out with the WL loop playing in the background, and that would be pretty cool!!!
