I heard a new pre-show loop at Illuminations. I dunno when it changed over but....I didn't love it. I didn't think it had much personality. Anyone else heard it?

Me ~ but I know I'm not in the majority on this one. I liked the older show that spotlighted each of the countries myself.horizons1 wrote:Who else thinks it's time to refresh the entire Illuminations show?
I kind of hope that doesn't happen. I wonder if it might if it turns out that the addition of Elsa and Anna to the Norway pavilion turns out to be popular though.Wizzard419 wrote:If they start making relevant and still popular characters the focus for every pavilion, they may very well do that.
I'd rather they replaced Wishes at Magic Kingdom first.horizons1 wrote:Who else thinks it's time to refresh the entire Illuminations show?
I like Wishes, but wouldn't be opposed to something new. I do like the really big fireworks though ~ I can do without the loud reports unless it corresponds nicely to the show.acp wrote:I'd rather they replaced Wishes at Magic Kingdom first.horizons1 wrote:Who else thinks it's time to refresh the entire Illuminations show?
There, I said it.
I just think Wishes has run its course now. Compared to some of the newer nighttime shows, it just seems.. lacking. Look at Disney Dreams in Paris or Once Upon a Time in Tokyo, for example. They're both very good shows. Yes, they lack the high-level big fireworks, but they could easily incorporate those into that kind of show if they wanted to keep the big bangs (I assume the Americans would like their shows to remain big and loud).
IllumiNations could probably do with an update, but it's a vastly more popular show than Wishes, so whatever replacement they eventually bring has a lot to live up to.
Even more, though, I'd like to see some kind of daytime entertainment at World Showcase. Something like what Tokyo DisneySea used to have in The Legend of Mythica would be awesome (I count it as the best daytime show at any Disney park that I've seen). It'd probably fit better at Animal Kingdom though. It's always irked me that there's not really any big mid-afternoon "thing" at Epcot.
My first visit to WDW was in 2006 (when I was a Cast Member), so I missed the parade. I have seen video of it, though. It looks like it was quite a big production with multiple simultaneous parades going round World Showcase. I think I'd probably prefer something on the water (again, Mythica being a good example, but with more of a World Showcase theme) though.Amy wrote:I like Wishes, but wouldn't be opposed to something new. Did you ever see the Tapestry of Nations parade at EPCOT? That was a nice show and seemed well attended the times we saw it. It would be nice to have something back in the afternoons at EPCOT. Maybe they feel like there is enough to do there without having an afternoon show/parade?
