I don't think they work for purchases unless you're staying on property. Ours didn't.theBIGyowski wrote:every MB is tied to your MDE account...and because of that will work as long as you have tickets tied to your MDE account
So if you have 7 MBs from all of your trips...as long as the battery still works in all of them...you will be able to use any of them for park entry, purchases, and FP+.
I am pretty sure if you have a credit card attached to the MDE account, then you should be able to make purchases using the MB. I could be wrong though. I wonder if you have to consent to each MB online before being able to make purchases.BenB wrote:I don't think they work for purchases unless you're staying on property. We had a credit card attached to the account and could not use our bands for purchases. There was no place online to register or we would have done so. It would have been very convenient to use them!theBIGyowski wrote:I am pretty sure if you have a credit card attached to the MDE account, then you should be able to make purchases using the MB. This sounds like a great question for the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
That is very interesting. It doesn't really seem to make any sense from a business perspective to not allow someone to make a purchase when they have a credit card and PIN attached to their profile. Maybe that is something they are adding later. I wonder if they still haven't upgraded their software to charge to the account...and can only charge to a physical room. I can almost guarantee that change will come though, because Disney is leaving money on the table.BenB wrote:We had a credit card attached to the account and could not use our bands for purchases. And now I have a moral quandary between wanting to reuse my current bands, but also wanting more red and green bands for our Christmas tree...wewantsdaredhead wrote:Disney gave me the option to "Decline" them.
That is good ~ I'm guessing there are several more guests that really don't want any more of the MB after multiple trips.wewantsdaredhead wrote:I went on the pick yet another color of magic band for our upcoming trip and FINALLY!!! Disney gave me the option to "Decline" them.

Just read about this option today! If you've gone in the last year, you can decline and reuse your old band!wewantsdaredhead wrote:I went on the pick yet another color of magic band for our upcoming trip and FINALLY!!! Disney gave me the option to "Decline" them.
I'd like to see some more colors come out!Amy wrote:zhoover wrote:And now I have a moral quandary between wanting to reuse my current bands, but also wanting more red and green bands for our Christmas tree...wewantsdaredhead wrote:Disney gave me the option to "Decline" them.![]()

I would like a couple color set...although I've yet to collect even one
Yep, I keep wondering if I should decline. I already have two from January when the system hiccuped and sent me two orange bands (I plan to use one & it's box for a display for when I do a travel table/booth). And I can always "borrow" my dad's green one or my sister's pink one or my brother's blue one for display. Seems so wasteful to get yet another one.zhoover wrote:And now I have a moral quandary between wanting to reuse my current bands, but also wanting more red and green bands for our Christmas tree...wewantsdaredhead wrote:Disney gave me the option to "Decline" them.
No kidding!? Thanks for the tip!JenMuse wrote:There is at least one out-of-park use: if you play Disney Infinity 2.0, you can put the magic band on the RFID base and get the DL Small World for your toybox.
Welcome - I hope they can come up with more out-of-park uses for the Magic Bands. It seems they would be able to . . .zhoover wrote:No kidding!?
