I'm sure there's a thread devoted to Spaceship Earth already, but when a search turned up an error, I got lazy and started a new one.
I don't know who posted this on Facebook yesterday, whether it was one of my Subsonic friends or one of my "normal" friends. Anyhoo I enjoyed this. It's very long, so you'll want to get some popcorn and nestle down in your favorite chair before you start to watch it. It's a revisit of the entire development and evolution of Spaceship Earth, done in 2008 by a guy named Martin Smith.

I thought it was interesting, and seeing some of the images of what was there in 2001 when we took the girls for the first time reminded me of it. Kind of sparked my memory. At any rate, enjoy!

No promises, but I'll try! I'm encouraged we haven't seen any yet and it is already almost 4:30 in the afternoon

Martins Fan Videos are to me above the best. Excellently made and fills my WDW desire since I live in Asia now. Times I want a little of home I watch some videos.
He even has a video with a few clips remaining of the SSE top with the astronauts. But it's a separate one and just dedicated to that.

When were there astronauts? Does anyone have a link to that video, I'd love to see it.

Best I can tell, the astronauts were there from 1982 to 1994. I watched a few videos but this was the only one that I found that showed the astronauts for sure

Awesome, thanks! I have vague memories of some parts, like the astronauts (now that I've seen them) and definitely remember that AT&T global community map. There was one time we got stopped on the descent and heard Tomorrow's Child repeatedly. It's still one of my favourite songs though. Sounds like the main theme for the top section has remained the same, why mess with what fits perfectly

I'm sure there are much better videos out there, but I just couldn't locate any tonight. There were also astronauts in Horizons which are actually the ones I think I remember more clearly. Here is a link to that

Horizons was always my favorite. :/ There was a site dedicated to the futile attempt to bring it back. It appears to be gone now. I still can't smell oranges without thinking of that attraction.
