It feels so typical that you could probably stick it in any theme park and it would feel right in. I know that it works within the confines of the area, but it just is missing a certain je nais se quois. It's actually the only ride in all of Disney I feel that way about for some reason. It just doesn't feel Disney-fied to me. :)
This is only becuase BTM was the first mine train style rollercoaster and then EVERYONE copied it after they saw how popular it was.. Remember also that Disney was the first to use steel tube tracks...

I had no idea! Then maybe it's because my first time to Disney was about seven years ago or so, and so I'd done it all before. Though, I think even then it still wouldn't hold up too well for me. That's the tricky thing about coasters in Disney, I think. It's the themes and decor that give a ride legs in these parks, and make you want to keep coming back time and time again. They don't have to be thrilling or exciting, but they do need to be memorable. Of course, that's just my opinion, and there's a two hour wait's worth of people that would disagree with me. :D

You know you might like Big Thunder a little more if you ride it at night. It's not any faster, it's more surreal. It's a classic.
