to hold the accessories to get the perfect shot... the extendable monopod, the telephoto lens, and the wide angled one, the spare batts, the memory cards, the cleaning kit the dessicant....

I agree with dstrawn. I carry a backpack mainly for my camera, extra memory cards, digital recorder and my audio recorder. It also has gum, hand sanitizer, lotion (washing your hands so often leaves our hands so dry), and also my coat for when it is chilly in the morning or evening, or rainingcy1229 wrote:I remember the days post-diaper bag but pre-independence where my "purse" was actually a small leather backpack that had my stuff, plus baby Tylenol, a pouch of crayons, two pullups, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, assorted bandaids, a pair of scissors, and a book or two. But I wonder why people who don't have young children drag a backpack around?BenB wrote:I used to go to Disney with no bags, ever. That was before the kids. I take a mesh backpack which helps speed up the security check a bit, and keeps the weight of the pack itself down.

That, and the agony of being without something you know darned well you should have brought is much, much worse than carrying something you don't use. Being a parent is the BEST thing, and for me, needing to carry all that stuff on my person really only lasted 2 or 3 years. Now that they're 13 and 17, ... ... well I was going to say that they carry their own junk but just this morning at the orthopedic specialist's office my 13-year-old kept handing me all her stuff to carry. Being a parent is STILL the best thing.mjmcsl4me wrote:Awe don't say that says this mom blessed with four kiddipopsDemonOfMusic wrote:cy1229 wrote:I remember the days post-diaper bag but pre-independence where my "purse" was actually a small leather backpack that had my stuff, plus baby Tylenol, a pouch of crayons, two pullups, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, assorted bandaids, a pair of scissors, and a book or two. it really seems more than it is and you start off with some things but go through it throughout the day so it gets a lot less.

I'm sure you're not horrible. But believe me it's a lot different when they are your own kids.DemonOfMusic wrote:Well, there's that and the fact that I'm horrible with childrency1229 wrote:.That, and the agony of being without something you know darned well you should have brought is much, much worse than carrying something you don't use. Re: Interactive Queue Etiquette
Interesting that there is a thread here about this and I somehow didn't read anything until after coming back from WDW. From personal experience I felt that if someone waiting in line at Winnie The Pooh is taking too long to play and there is space then it is okay to swiftly go around them and thus "decrease" my wait time
I personally would try to do the same thing on Space Mountain, but there is just not enough room for me to squeeze through (even though I am thin).
When it came around to Haunted Mansion I took the express entrance as I had seen the graveyard previously.

Eh, I dunno. Somehow, it all seems worth it when my two-year-old is still singing the theme song to "Journey into Imagination with Figment" 2 months later, and asking when we can go back.DemonOfMusic wrote:That is a TON of stuff! Reason number 100000000 to never have kids...
Hoping to go back to the Magic soon.

That is AWESOME. I think I'm going to have to recant my earlier opinion that kids under age 3, while they vastly enjoy their vacations, don't remember much.BenB wrote:Eh, I dunno. Re: Interactive Queue Etiquette
I thought of this post when my 18-month-old just ran from the kitchen to the computer in the other room because she recognized the song They Were Dancing Barefoot from Illuminations preshow. Now needless to say she recognizes this because of hearing it outside of the park but as my husband said if she heard it playing in the parks she would probably pick up on it. So proud!BenB wrote:Eh, I dunno.
