Yeah, try the green side. No spinning, nothing more than a mild motion simulator. And, if it gets to you, simply close your eyes!Amy wrote:I just jumped right into Mission Space. My spouse gets serious motion sickness and he can do green. I figure if he can, anyone can.DisneyYorkie wrote:Yeah, try the green side. No spinning, nothing more than a mild motion simulator. I will probably do it this time. I don't get motion sick (but my mom does and she told me she hated the ride - so I automatically didn't want to ride it). My goal this trip is to try something new in all of the parks that I haven't done before.

When I first saw Tower of Terror, I said "no way, ever ever ever!". Then one year I went with my brother and sister in law and decided to try it since they said they loved it. I was scared to death during the whole waiting in line and getting into the car. Now, I am a fan. I loved it! Who knew??

Re: What ride have you conquered that you were afraid of?
Years ago when Splash Mountain first opened at WDW I was very nervous riding the first time because of all the flume type rides I had ridden prior. They always had a very hard landing at the bottom of the "big drop", and I have always had issues with my back. I was pleasantly surprised after my first ride and I have ridden SO MANY TIMES since! We would always have one night every trip that would go SOMETHING like this during Spectromagic...SPLASH, THUNDER, SPLASH, THUNDER, SPLASH, SPLASH, THUNDER, THUNDER, AND SPLASH, OH YEAH, LET'S DO THUNDER ONE MORE TIME, and since we have to walk by anyway, SPLASH
! Great way to end a fantastic day, aaaaaaaaaaaah

Too funny! I take it the queues were pretty empty during Spectro??Sharonofwindham wrote:Years ago when Splash Mountain first opened at WDW I was very nervous riding the first time because of all the flume type rides I had ridden prior. Tower of Terror, definitely. I went on it when I was about six and it actually sparked a fear of elevators, but after thoroughly examining the ride, I've learned to trust and love it.

I enjoyed Mission Space, but the thing about it that still scares me a bit is when you get that funny feeling just before you leave the tower to enter "space", that sorta feels like your gonna pass out. I think it's the G-forces from the spinning, and you actually almost get to the point of passing out when they slow it downAmy wrote:I just jumped right into Mission Space. Maybe you just need to downgrade to the less intense, not spinny side??Sharonofwindham wrote:I enjoyed Mission Space, but the thing about it that still scares me a bit is when you get that funny feeling just before you leave the tower to enter "space", that sorta feels like your gonna pass out. Re: What ride have you conquered that you were afraid of?
I did both the first time I went a couple years ago just to compare and they didn't seem all that different to me. Just less g-forces on the less intense side, otherwise the attraction was all the same. I don't have any problems with the more intense side, but I was checking out the less intense to see if it was tame enough for F1gment, but we didn't think it was worth the risk with her various medical conditions. She is happy with my explanation and the video I may have captured discreetly on my cell phoneSharonofwindham wrote:I think I just may do that! I hope it's not too boring

Don't laugh... Haunted Mansion.
The first time I visited WDW I was 10, and the stretching room freaked me out. I spent the whole rest of the attraction with my eyes tightly closed, meaning my 10-year-old imagination was picturing everything the Ghost Host says... and as we all know, imagination can expand your greatest fears into an overwhelming nightmare!
My mental image of the attraction was so strong that when I went back for my honeymoon 17 years later, I was petrified in the queue and almost backed out. But I pushed myself through, loved it (of course) and now it's one of my favorite rides.
Oh, and it's nowhere near as scary as my imagination told me it was!
